Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I love my Space Travels, but not exactly out of the box. The tips it comes with were a disaster for me - none of them fit. I had to dig through my iem-box that has all sorts of chi-fi and non-chi-fi (but still cheap) stuff to find something that will fit my ears and still work with the charging...- WhereAreMyEars

At first I liked my PR3, but the more I used it (and I used it a lot), the more tiring it got - especially when I was getting more IEMs to compare it to. Currently my favorite is probably AS16 Pro, I bought it as a gimmick to see what all-BAs are like, but turned out I really love it. Probably...- WhereAreMyEars

So does the regular AS16 Pro that I have, although they don't specifically mention resin - at the very least it's 3D printed.- WhereAreMyEars

Interesting, I was completely unaware of its existence. According to what I can find in the listings, the difference is one of low frequency 22955 BAs being replaced with a 30019 mid-high frequency one which sounds like a weird thing to do as it's already packed with mid and high freq units...- WhereAreMyEars

A couple weeks ago my Chi-Fi addiction has led me to acquire AS16 Pro, as I really wanted to try an all-BA IEM for a while now. I think it's my favorite now. The only complaint I'd have is that it doesn't sit in my ear as well as the smaller KZs do. But well, you've gotta fit all these drivers...- WhereAreMyEars

More drivers isn't necessarily equal to better experience. Many people think a single, good dynamic driver will perform better than literally a dozen of smaller drivers smashed together just for the sake of marketing numbers. Having said that, I haven't heard AS24 so who knows, maybe you'll like...- WhereAreMyEars

Maybe not strictly IEM-related, but Dawn Pro drains my phone's battery so much that I'm having second thoughts about using them together. And all I'm driving with it is some IEMs.- WhereAreMyEars

Today I received another KZ - this time the no-switch D-Fi. Gotta say it was amazingly fast delivery since I ordered them little more than a week ago - must've been sent from some european warehouse. Anyway, they're fine, but I'm not as amazed as I were with ZVX. They're "just" ok, at least for...- WhereAreMyEars

Yeah I can imagine, though that's probably an issue with painted IEMs in general, I read people having that with Chu or Chu II, too. Speaking of price, I see it's even cheaper now ($6.45), in the "buy 3+ items" ali sale.- WhereAreMyEars

Received KZ ZVX that I recently ordered, and frankly speaking I'm stunned by what you can get for what was $6.95, VAT included. The build quality is great, I think it looks much better in person than it does on photos (I have the black version). And of course the sound is also really nice...- WhereAreMyEars

I'm better off without the switches anyway, as I'm certain I'd find myself constantly fiddling with them, trying to find some sort of sweet spot.- WhereAreMyEars

D-Fi with or without tuning switches? Or are the switches just a meme anyway? The no-switches D-Fi is ridiculously cheap in a "buy 3 items sale" so I'm considering getting one.- WhereAreMyEars

Tried moving the cable around a bit, and in different spots? As for other IEMs, well I do enjoy my Chu II (also with Dawn Pro - not like these iems need that though :D ), but I didn't have the first Chu for comparison. Alright, I received my 30 Ohm adapter that I ordered before reading your experiences and I can say my thoughts are very similar, however it's not as bad as I expected, and I really think a lower impedance value (10ohm or lower, given that on PR2v2 graphs 10 Ohm already had a very significant...- WhereAreMyEars

Calling that a planar feels like a bit of a stretch imho, it really looks like just a flattened DD, and sure, a planar may be just a flattened DD, but you'd usually see the coil being one way or another printed and spread out across the whole diaphragm's surface, so that it moves evenly as a...- WhereAreMyEars

Nice, I understand you mean the T300B bass enhancing tip? I'm waiting on BGVP model E01 which is supposed to have the same function of improving bass and reducing treble. And is much cheaper, but who knows if it's any good :relaxed:- WhereAreMyEars

Thanks, The ones I've ordered are actually 300 and 450 meshes, so maybe it'll work better with 300 if 500 is too much. Almost regretting I didn't go with even lower density like 200. That's not really any news, but the nozzle mesh is really just a somewhat but not extremely dense protective metal mesh, without any extra dampening material (can see straight through it to the driver's magnets), aside from what seems to be most likely a wide band of glue, wider than the darker...- WhereAreMyEars

Nah, I doubt that is the reason. Moondrop just have some issues with keeping certain products in stock, I bought their Dawn Pro DAC on 11th and they haven't shipped it until 20 days later. I'd assume Variations also have some availability problems if it's like you say.- WhereAreMyEars
