Music to feel better to
Bill Withers is my pick-me-up guy. Lovely Day is where I start and then just play his hits. Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue is my other. I was always a grunge/metal/90’s hip hop kind of guy, but my norm can be overwhelming when I’m overwhelmed.- firesgt911

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)
I just did some mods to an old SR225 with my son and now we are itching to build something new. This has been a helpful thread as now I'm researching drivers.- firesgt911

Fog City Audio
I just ordered a 3.5ft today for my 6xx. I was looking for something shorter for when I listen from my phone. Thinking about asking if he will make on for my Grado. Looking forward to getting it! -

My son and I made some changes. Mango cups and wide camel headband from Turbulent Labs and gimbals from NYCZAJ. This started out as an OG SR225. Then we each listened to Deftones Around the Fur! These things are so good! Turbulent Labs and NYCZAJ are top shelf! I am over the moon with their stuff.- firesgt911

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)
My latest addition is the Fiio Jade Audio KA2. Super simple and easy when I'm on the go. We rented a cabin recently and this thing delivered some really good music while I recharged my batteries. I brought along my Kato and could not have been happier with the combo. It even drives my hd6xx...- firesgt911

Grado Fan Club!
I just watched the video today and enjoyed it. It was great exposure to a lot of stuff I haven’t tried yet. Although I do not take any reviews very seriously, they do give me a jumping off point as a relative newcomer to the hobby. For example, because of the video, I think I’m going to try a...- firesgt911

Grado Fan Club!
As far as the reviews go, I’m sure Grado does not have the same technical specs of some other headphones. The may not sound exactly how the musicians played it in the studio. You may not hear the bassist pass gas in perfect rhythm. That does not mean they don’t sound good. Also, they are so...- firesgt911

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
Is waifu universally an Asian market concept or is it specific to different regions? Like, does this style of art transcend it's Japanese origins? Am I off base to assume this is derived from post WW2 Japanese art?- firesgt911

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
Makes sense. It certainly is a bit small minded of me to view it from my tiny little corner of the planet. There seems to be a lot of nuance in this hobby. Many niches within a niche. 🤔- firesgt911

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
So, I googled Waifu. That actually helps me understand it more. These are not necessarily random characters, but characters with origins and backstories and relevance outside of just the product.- firesgt911

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I was genuinely asking. It’s not that I don’t like it, but I am interested in understanding it. I also have a couple of business degrees and a working knowledge of marketing, but admittedly this is outside my wheelhouse. And I own two different iem’s from Moondrop, hence my presence here. I find...- firesgt911

Moondrop in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
I love my Blessing 2 Dusk, but do not understand the heavy anime association. Are iem's and anime synonymous? What am I missing? Am I simply too old to understand? It sort of cheapens the product to me, as if it were designed for kids.- firesgt911

post your grado mods....
This thread is costing me money. I have an old SR225 that sounds great to me. In fact, it sounds good enough to justify spending a little to make it more comfortable. All I've done is replace stock pads with Geekria pads as the originals are sort of disintegrating. I've ordered a softer headband...- firesgt911

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
How many Redbar members do we have? I was a co-lead of the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter a few years ago, though my partner was the real heart and soul of the group. I am currently a member here in Philadelphia, though I do not participate much since I decided to get another degree in my 40’s, which...- firesgt911

I have hiked a few sections of the Appalachian Trail in several of mine. Never been diving, though I do have a few dive watches. I did fly in a Speedmaster and explored the deserts of New Mexico in my Explorer.- firesgt911

I was going to ask about the drums next. I am terrible behind a piano, but gigged on guitar, bass and drums a few times. I have always found that piano players pick the best rooms for sound. I guess audiophiles probably have good insight too.- firesgt911
