Sony budget earphone discussion thread (MH750, MH755, MH1C, EX300, etc)

Great, I just ordered Spiral++ in 2 sizes a couple of months ago that I found inferior to the stock Sony Silicon Tips (too much treble elevation, kind of harsh with mh750) and now you are saying I have to order some Spiral + tips.. at least I know my size now:) Just for kicks will try these...

have you tried the official sony foam tips? have you tried other silicon sony tips? with the t 500 it says the average lifespan is about 2-3 months, kind of a dealbreaker for me when they degrade that quickly. the silicon tips that came with eg my Sony XBA 40 are still going strong and can be...

will give this one a try when i find the time for the procedure. what foam tips do you use, original sony ones?where to buy?and in reverse sounds to me that they become smaller towards the iem?? i really liked the e 5000 sound signature whise but had to let it go due to the huge power...

Sony budget earphone discussion thread (MH750, MH755, MH1C, EX300, etc)

The MH750 is really great sounding but I would not go so far as to put it above N3 both in timbre and technicalities. The N3 really is far ahead of the MH750 from the mid to the upper registers where it stands out as NEVER sharp or anything but very elegant. ITs almost opposite with the MH750...

yes me too!!mh 750 is my daily driver for several years now! their tonal output is just awesome when bass (slightly) elevated and highs completely down regulated. I ve got to say I really appreciate the stock cable of the mh750 aswell! the clip is of great quality and i position it directly...

Sony budget earphone discussion thread (MH750, MH755, MH1C, EX300, etc)

mh750 is a downgrade in all aspects you mention(+power requirements) except the bass imo. this is the only element of the mh750 I prefer over N3 where I have to occasionally down eq bass to achieve the perfect amount. The smootheness of the N3 is really something else and several levels above...

Unfortunately I can report the same. Right driver was going quieter and quieter, not mute though.. Lucky enough I still have some spares. I agree, the bass of the MH750 is just amazing, perfect in terms of amount and quality to me!

If there is a gap and you find the time a picture would be greatly appreciated for reference! thinking about fitting the mmcx plug of the cable with a perfectly fitting o-ring, only question is where to find it :)

And you are a happy long term user? Is there a gap with this cable aswell? It seems like there is actually no other cable besides the stock cable that fits the mmcx socket of the N3 perfect? Alarmed by some mmcx horror stories I m probably overthinking the whole thing..

for the disconnection of the stock cable I will use the final tool and hope everthing goes as planed here. My question was more in regard to the long-term durability of the connection itself (once the non-stock cable is successfully attached) Since there is a milimeter gap with pretty much all...

I cant compare to a higher resolving iem exept maybe ex800st but I fully agree that the complete package of N3 is just fantastic!

    Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread

To all N3 users not on stock cables: Is there any issue with the gap in between the connection? I noticed there is a milimeter of a gap that is not present with the stock cables.. So I m just curious if e.g. unplaned cable pulls might lead to problems with the mmcx port of the N3.. Any LONG TERM...

Very good recommendations, thanks!!I m about to follow your suggestions and upgrade with Sony MUC-M12SM2 + JVC Spiral dots. One question regarding the cable: Is there any durability issue because of the gap in between the connection? Have you used this combo extensively/ was it put to test...

Due to the gigantic power requirement to achieve even acceptable volume the e5000 never left my desk so I cant comment on this one. Can only compare isolation to mh750 and n3 is MUCH better in regard to isolation!

with n3 I often leave the bass eq at 0 or 1 to have the perfect amount of bass compared to 3 on the mh750.I generally am treble sensitive so I always reduce higher frequencies. the xba 4 for example was unbearable for me without eq adjustments of the treble, ex500 as well.once the treble was...

yes the e5000 sounded very good to my ears as well for the brief time I had it BUT its not really a portable option for me since it needs way too much power.. This is one of the very special aspects about the n3 that it combines such an amazing sound with very low power requirements!

Sorry my bad, I m so uninterested in wireless that I even dont really know anything about their wireless lineup. I just took it the wireless models are at least meant to serve somewhat the same audience since some are in the same price bracket as the n3 once was.. I was not implying the wireless...

yes you are probably right but too late now :) and the "cheaper" versions would still cost almost half of the final version with free shipping to europe that would probably take months..

thanks for the quick reply. no issue means you would recommend using it for the n3?i would need to import it but i guess its worth it..

Has anyone here used the final mmcx tool for the n3? does it work here as intended or is it only helpful with the final e5000? I m asking because the original mmcx cable of the n3 is fitted very tightly with close to no gap.. dont want to part with that precious mmcx connection :)
