I have a stepped attenuator version running a a G73R. I noticed the lower gain of that tube really only requires me to add a couple extra ticks on the dial. The album mastering makes a difference too, but it seems like I rarely go past 10 o’clock.

Those GEC U709's seemed to be even more expensive than the G73R when I looked around earlier. I'll have to liquidate some more toys to afford something like that.

After double checking that the Leeloo does run Jupiter caps, I decided to place my order. I figured the speed, detail, and increased sound stage of the Leeloo suits my needs a bit better than the meaty sound of the Forge. The relatively lower cost of good tubes is also a bonus. I'm excited.
