Denafrips 'Pontus' R2R ladder DAC - close up view
I think that there is too much bass due to the copper plugs. I thought if it is more loud than pontus ii (non-12th) I could bring that back. I asked vinshine about it but they said it would be challenging. I may look for a used one.- Tlaudio

HI. Has anyone replaced the AC socket with the same AC socket as pontus ii (non 12th)? I own a 12th-1 and am having trouble getting used to the bass feel, etc. I am thinking that the AC socket is the one that could be affected by the changes in the 12th. (I love the Aresii without the changes)...- Tlaudio

The old Ares ii was in, FW, probably to be used with OG (1.0). I am sure the soundstage and resolution scores will be lower than P2. But in my environment and with my ears, Ares ii was a great match. Magic. In audio someone asks for "better" and "more". They are usually right, because it is...- Tlaudio

After upgrading from Enyo to Pontus, i sold Enyo and added IRIS after 3 months of hesitation. Then today I returned to Ares ii. I found an older unit (older than v3.12) and it was an impulse buy. The Pontus (fw1.4) + IRIS gave a wide soundstage with detailed sound and instrument separation...- Tlaudio

Are you connecting the usb to pontus? If you're connected to iris, you'll see 1.6. non 3.121 1.6 yes! 3.12 | 1.6 And the pontus is followed by a 'p'. ex. v3.12 | p22f1.0- Tlaudio

In my meze109, both the wide sound field that exits at 1.4 and the long listening time at 1.0 are excellent. I plan to try the tentatively named 1.5 when it is officially released, but for the time being, I'll enjoy struggling between 1.0 and 1.4.- Tlaudio

Everyone wrote in detail. If you recently purchased it, I think it is ver 1.4. The control panel will have F1.4 at the end of the display.( ˘ω˘) . 。o(- Tlaudio

Some time has passed since I added IRIS to my desk, and I have gathered my impressions. ・The iris is slightly clearer, increases the distance between instruments slightly, and gives a slightly wider soundstage. ・The i2s cable, interconnect cables, and power cables make a small difference in the...- Tlaudio

New denafrips DDC (Iris and Gaia)
I also let the IRIS I received run for 24 hours before connecting it. It is almost 100 hours and I feel it works well for PC audio. The cable that came with it is 18 AWG and I plan to replace it with a 14 AWG cable.- Tlaudio

New denafrips DDC (Iris and Gaia)
IRIS was added to my desk today, happy. The DAC took a while to break in, will IRIS change with break in? Anyone have experience with how many hours it takes to change?- Tlaudio

Hi. Four years have passed since denafrips DDC was announced. Some may have upgraded from IRIS to Hermes, some may have chosen Gaia, and some may have excluded DDC from their own systems. I am at the crossroads of whether to include DDC. What are the good and bad points of DDC, why I keep it...- Tlaudio

85055 gold plated vs. 85025 Malinco unplated. The 85055 gives the impression that the bass is greatly expanded and filled in. The 85025 is more enjoyable for vocals, and I like it very much. In total, I liked the 85025 and plan to try it on the Aresii. Bendability is also a very good...- Tlaudio

So far 85055 works very well. I had tried RCAs to avoid tightness, but went back to XLRs. Enjoying it on OGFW. I'm told it will change over time so I'm going back to see how it works.- Tlaudio

Get it here https://quartzacoustic.com/ It was the lowest price I could find for 85055. If you want 85025, beatechnik is a good choice.- Tlaudio

Gotham 85055 power cable is now available. The plugs are gold-plated, but I plan to use them for a while to see how they work together. Gotham 85055(5.5sq=10AWG) Gotham 85025 (2.5sq) Alvin has previously stated that they use 85025. Does anyone have any experience with the changes in power...- Tlaudio

I own a 12th-1, has anyone compared it to the pontus ii? I don't think the changes that started with the 12th are good ones. The FW is the same from OG to 12th and 12th-1, but changes must have definitely occurred in the power supply section. The 12th-1 was brighter and flashier than I...- Tlaudio

I have ares ii and pontus ii side by side and have been comparing them for the past month. Has anyone gone back to ares from pontus? After several checks, we settled on 18 AWG. The supra lorad gives me expansive and clear bass, but as a headphone user, I find the bass to be too much and the vocals to be subdued. Maybe it's because my headphones are meze109, I think HP with moderate bass would have a different impression...- Tlaudio

Violectric V222 and V202
One month has passed since the combination of pontus ii and V202.
