Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
100% agree when it comes to listening on the go, cables are a nuisance. For quite listening sessions in a hotel room or at home I think we may be a little farther out from a sound quality prospective when compared to high quality cables. I also enjoy the subtle changes that different cables...- superpete93

The Brise Audio Japan Cable Thread
Thats like $16K USD for a set of IEM's and a portable amp...you still need a DAC. I tried juggling separate amp/dac combo's but I found they really take away from the portability of the IEM's. Still, for 2.5M yen you'd think you would get the whole package.- superpete93

Naobi would be the way to go but Ultimate would probably be too thick. Thickness is based on cable grade: https://briseaudio.com/en/pages/earphone-spec- superpete93

Purchased new from Musicteck on 03/06/2023. Like new, original packaging. Amazing detail and transparency, one of the widest soundstages in an IEM with excellent instrument separation and reference-like neutrality. Beautiful design--these are my all time favorite IEM's. Only reason I'm selling...- superpete93

Purchased this to replace my Empire Ears Legend EVO cable which I had thought I had lost. Found the original cable before using the Genesis more than twice. Basically the same cable as the stock Evo comes with without the Empire Ears branding. Good quality copper cable. Comes in a hard shell...- superpete93

Same for me, changing up the cable makes it perfect. I'd love to buy a prestige plus version but I'd just be putting that beautiful cable in a drawer most of the time.- superpete93

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
I've had my Ragnar for almost half a year now and never noticed any difference over time. I probably listen to them for 8-10 hours a week every week but never did a "burn in". I swap the original cable for the copper cable that came with my Legend Evo when listening to Metal, 80, 90's and...- superpete93

Li-ion batteries can last a long time but they need to have a minimal charge and should never be allowed to discharge. Charging and discharging is a chemical process. Once they get below about 2V per cell, copper shunts can form inside the cells. These copper shunts increase the rate of...- superpete93

Sounds like Sony uses poor quality batteries. For example, I have a pair of 1st gen Airpods from Apple that still have nearly the same battery life as the day I purchased them about 4-5 years ago and I probably use them 2-4+ hours a day everyday to listen to audio books while commuting...- superpete93

Not as high end as either of those but I really enjoy the PW Audio Genesis cable with my Ragnar. However, you need to request one with a Pentaconn termination. The stock one PW uses is fairly poor quality and results in a slight hissing rather than the perfectly black background I get with the...- superpete93

I can speak to the u12t's--great all rounder that leans more to neutral itself in my opinion. Based on what your looking for it wouldn't be my 1st choice. Out of all the IEMs I've owned I would say the Tia Trio may be a good option. Regarding mid bass slam--to my ears it feels like the BA's...- superpete93

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
With a good copper cable I enjoy the Ragnar for most metal I listen too but its not a perfect fit everytime. Anything with a bias to treble isn't a great match--Cradle of Filth for example. Iron Maiden sounds great, so does Lamb of God, Venom and old Metalica. Progressive metal like Dream...- superpete93

Deep insertion made a huge difference for me, I also swapped out cable the Ragnar came with to a high quality copper cable--the combination increased the base to a perfect level for me and softened out the treble without losing resolution. I'll have to try the Azla Crystal's--never tested those...- superpete93

I don't keep too many IEM's or sources. I find something that I love to listen to and sell the ones I don't listen to as much and use the proceeds to fund the next IEM or DAP. For a TOTL IEM I look for perfect quality, though I don't care much about exotic materials but I want to see...- superpete93
