Chord Electronics ☆ Poly ☆ (wireless & microSD module for Mojo) ☆★►USEFUL INFO on 1st PAGE!!◄★☆

If people go back and look, on the day the new server update was released I predicted there would be issues, I work in S/W and have close ties to IT stuff, I've seen this kind of thing in our products as well. Why did Chord do this to themselves? The answer is they know Poly and 2Go are legacy...

Interesting you have made me want to dig out the Variations from the bottom of my IEM drawer and give it another listen. :)

    IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator

This thing makes a great source for the Loxjie P20, other headphone amps are available. As someone said no line-out and technically its double-amping as some call it but it matters little as it is a very low noise source and the design makes for a great source to drive a headphone amp. I...

$180 wow, that doesn't look like much more than $10 worth of parts. Can you work a soldering iron?

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

Not sure exactly which ones they are, I threw the box away but something from Atlas. They are very thick and that's what worries me, they definity put a lot of strain on the BNC plugs on the MScaler. I know my dealer and Chord will sort it out if it has broken something so I suppose its not the...

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

Does anyone else have really wobbly BNC outputs? One of my dual BNC outputs is very wobbly, the other day I got mono sound, not sure if its the BNC cable or the socket but no mechanical fixing can't be good long-term. The threaded bit of the socket is meant to have a nut on it but for no other...

    IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator

I have Mojo2 (Poly), used to have Hugo 2, and now have TT 2 and MScaler. They all serve different purposes for me but if you want me to wax lyrical and b***s**t about which sounds better/worse etc etc I'm not that person, perhaps they have minor nuances in the sound but don't ask me to pick one...

    IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator

I noticed yesterday that the DC Elite is susceptible to RFI interference from a Phone, not sure if anyone has reported this before. Its probably picking the noise up in the balanced IEM cable and feeding it back into the amplifier. Seems a bit odd for a device that is meant to be used in this...

For streaming when away from my Wi-Fi I always use Airplay nowadays. Its works just as well as Roon, it is lossless but maxes out at 44.1/16

That has a battery in it too doesn't it? Out of the frying pan and into the fire. I got a DC Elite it complements the Poly/Mojo2 well for when I just want to take a phone and dongle.

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread

Its all down to distortion. Many people like the warmer distorted sound that valves (tubes) bring. Your Xduoo Link2 Bal dongle must be adding some kind of distortion, or some distortion is being added somewhere in the chain to make it sound warmer. So yes it is possible for one source to sound...

I suppose for folks that use it, I'm waiting for Spotify to go lossless, been waiting a few years now, I doubt I'll ever see it. :-) If its playlists that keep you loyal to Spotify perhaps have a look at SoundDiiz, I use it all the time to import Spotify playlists into Apple Music and others.

Correct, its the reason I swapped to an iPhone, I appreciate its not for everyone but getting bit-perfect out of music steaming apps is much simpler.

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

A Sennheiser marketing rep on Head-Fi won't be able to do a lot other than suggest contacting customer support. If anyone has a genuine complaint about a Sennheiser product after pursuing all the other routes I'd suggest writing a strongly worded letter or email to one or all of these people...

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

Don't buy used unless you trust the seller, too many very good fakes around, also consider the possibility that the seller you trust believes they are selling a genuine IEM too. What was the other option, discount, yes I'd chose that one or just buy another new set from a Sennheiser dealer...

Thank you, those won't work for me either. Do you find that Comply tips lose the memory effect after only a week or so? Way before they tear or get too dirty I find they spring back instantly and are useless.

    IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator

This sounds better than using a phone or DAP as a source, more drive current available perhaps, but I do have the iBasso CB19 so not sure.

It needs checking first, yes it could be that the battery is worn out but it could be that there is too much standby current being drawn for some reason.

    IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator

OK, perhaps your digital source is adding jitter noise or some other digital artefacts? Its a well publicised fact that noisy digital = brighter sound. My ie900 sounds great with the DC Elite, not sure if its classed as a bright IEM though? Here is a frequency response graph I found. It does...

    IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator

I find the DC Elite has a "reference tuning" which every good DAC/amp should have. Basically flat frequency response between 20Hz and 20Khz, why would anyone require anything any different? If you find it too bright you are most likely listening too loud. Do people around you in a noisy...

    IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator

A phone yes or a DAP that supports USB digital out. The DC Elite is definitely an improvement in the sound quality compared to the DAC in my Sony A306 and I also use it with the Xduoo x10t ii that one doesn't even have a DAC in it as its designed as a transport only.

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]

Agreed, if Chord removed the micro USB and added a 4.4mm output they would really clean-up the market with the Mojo * * Mojo owner's are OK with Micro USB and no Balanced 4.4mm these changes are just for the uneducated. :)

    IBasso DC-Elite . . . The no compromise DAC/AMP with a true Stepped Attenuator

Perhaps you purchased the wrong dongle, its a great device but due to its specs and features its not for the lighthearted Head-Fier. 1. Don't allow your source to control the volume, it will degrade the sound and you may as well use a different dongle. 2. As @SQ13 has already said the noise and...
