The Stax Thread III
Did anyone else notice there were 64 people watching this thread a moment ago?... Edit: This screenshot I took shows 63 and then it quickly fell to 22, asking cuz this sorta weirds me out.. usually there's a pattern of how many users are lurking a given thread, makes more sense for a bigger...- folkguy

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
I think the Intona's at like 300-500 thereabouts aren't worth it for me and at that point would rather just wait for new Qutest for desktop solution, Chord house sound has probably won me over, ethier that or I go a DIY route. Rob said I think that every new DAC is gonna have the DSP options of...- folkguy

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
I've been using Mojo 2 outdoors more recently and I could care less if anyone thinks this is placebo, but I swear the clarity from the battery and direct 1m USB-C to phone (UAPP in bitperfect) is absolutely inherently better than desktop mode + straight into PC with no galvanic isolation. It's...- folkguy

The Stax Thread III
https://songwhip.com/nils-petter-molvaer/streamer2004 This is an album I use to test for bass detail and texture/pitch definition, the 404 I owned was great but the 1 micron Sig from '87 despite it having a less tactile response is just better in techs all around. In general it's a great estat...- folkguy

There isn't outright bashing and I agree a one box solution that would meet all of a users preferences seems ideal.- folkguy

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
Is it easy or tricky to use car batteries for audio? I've seen Rob mention it a few times now, wonder how you'd configure it and if it's potentially dangerous. If anyone here knows I'd love a reply or DM, links to resources appreciated too, I'll be doing my own research anyway.- folkguy

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
It is peculiar how one day desktop mode will take just a few seconds to happen, other days around 20 or so minutes, wonder if other folk have experienced this. Ever since moving things around, in fact right now having it not go directly into a wall outlet but instead from an extension lead...- folkguy

Oh you poor soul, man hasn't even seen a Macassar Ebony ZMF set, yeah they're stunning, maybe my favorite looking. I believe goldwerger here was actually the first to ever own a ZMF in that wood, might've been the AO or VC I forgot.- folkguy

Watts Up...?
Is Quartet the same as the new rumored "Dave Scaler" or is that going to be a completely different and more expensive upscaler? -
The Stax Thread III
You could try the trick I found from the HE-60 thread recently which was, on the side that has less volume, press it against your desk with pads facing down and kind of roll it both length ways and sideways with a bit of pressure (you'll hear it making a sucking type of sound), might seem...- folkguy

The Stax Thread III
Guys question - got an old lambda that for the most plays fine into the SRD7mk2 but eventually after a few minutes of audio play the left channel loses balance, why is this the case? For the record, I've checked every other variable in the chain but is it possible that since it plays in...- folkguy

Speaking of driver thickness do we know what X9K thickness is in comparison to older models from both Omega & Lambda series? Would be very interested to know!- folkguy

Okaaaay, relisted again. Trying to fund for DIY projects and that's essentially the reason for sale here. I wish I didn't have to let it go but it is what it is.- folkguy

Stax SR-X9000
Out of curiosity do we know what the cause of the driver imbalance is for X9K? Is it a loosening/detachment of the metal mesh stators (hard to believe since they're thermally bonded to the chasis), or the diaphragm itself decreasing tension or something. Interested regardless.- folkguy

Stax SR-X9000
If I had to guess the stage depth is now backwards and perhaps a gap in the seal creates a mid bass bump, other than that I've no idea since I don't own one :smirk: It's the best built Stax they ever made though, I wonder what they're gonna do next.- folkguy
