TDA mode simulates another completely different DA chip (Phillips). Turn that off. Get that NOS mode going too.

Disregard. I got to see the back of a BNC panel mount connector and it's simply two solder points.

I'm fairly confident with a soldering iron and would like to swap out the RCA COAX input connection for a BNC connector. I'm sure it is a simple job but I would feel much better if I had some direction. Anyone feel like posting a simple walk-through or maybe sharing a link with instructions...

I just re read the DI20 manual and I was surprised not seeing anything on selecting Output source (i2s or SPDIF). I gotta think we are able to connect more than one DAC at a time, no? I'd be using the i2s and SPDIF outputs to two separate DACs.

Righto. The NFB2 page had a custom option to substitute the RCA for BNC connection at time of order, so I figured there was compatibility there. Probably not worth the effort I'm thinking.

Anyone have an opinion with the SPDIF connectors and which might be best, STD (RCA) vs ACSS (BNC)? I've only had my R-1 DAC connected via i2s (HDMI) but I'm taking delivery of an older NFB2.1 in the next few days and I'm going to be connecting that via SPDIF. Wondering if I should bother...

Sold my tube preamp recently and will be selling off my back-up tube stash. Ran these four tubes for a very short time. 20 hours tops. The Amperex 7308 was better in my system. Getting very hard to find these days. Upscale even ran out. Would like to sell these off as a quad set or two...

Gotcha. Since my fixed output is so low (450mV), what's the next best way to connect the NFB-1 amp to my preamp? I've never been comfortable connecting to a line-level output because of the two volume control situation, but, maybe there's a good rule of thumb to follow that I'm just not aware...
