Hello, Up for sale is my v1.3 Sonore microRendu and Small Green Computer 7v LPS. As you can see from the photos, some of the rendu's lettering has started to rub off and the LPS's display has 2 LED bars missing, hence the lower price. These are strictly cosmetic flaws and in no way detract from...- runningwithscissors

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Purely speculation on my part. On the website it says "but with this change, you're pretty much set for any change we might make in the future, and your Yggy+ won't have to come back to us again." I may be reading between the lines a bit too much, but this statement makes me wonder if they've...- runningwithscissors

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Speaking of upgrades, I'm wondering if there are any in the works for the Yggy (besides the new chassis and option of going NOS)?- runningwithscissors

Thank you for responding. Was there a noticeable SQ difference when you added the Iris?- runningwithscissors

New denafrips DDC (Iris and Gaia)
I've done a search in this thread and didn't see what I was looking for, so please bear with me if I missed it. Does anyone here have any experience adding an Iris in between a Bluesound Node (N130) and their DAC? I'm curious to see what effect the Iris would have if I added it to my setup. I'm...- runningwithscissors

Can you hear a difference between DAC's?
I can hear very subtle differences. Two DACs in particular that come to mind are an SMSL SU-9 that I had for a brief period and my (current DAC) Yggdrasil Less is More. In very simplistic terms, the SMSL sounded mildly "thin" and the Yggy sounds "fuller" to my ears. I'm sure the folks at ASR...- runningwithscissors

Audirvana Studio
I haven't noticed a difference in SQ between Roon and Audirvana, but from a strictly user friendly experience Roon wins hands down. I'm not bashing on Audirvana at all, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.- runningwithscissors

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Very nice! If you don't mind me asking, can you tell any kind of difference between turning the OS filter on and off on your Yggy? I've got the Less Is More flavor, but not the "+" version and I'm debating whether I should do the upgraded chassis.- runningwithscissors

I've been hoping to see Schiit produce a streamer, but you just laid out a very convincing argument for them not to do so. I'll stick with my Node.- runningwithscissors

Tracks that once brought you into tears for any reason
Jordan by Rival Sons. It just happened to come on the radio as I was driving to my father's house in Florida after getting the call that he had passed away. I still can't listen to it without getting choked up.- runningwithscissors

Yggdrasil "flavors"
I realize this is an old thread, but figured it was time to revive it. I’ve been experimenting with various DACs and have become very curious about the Yggy vs Gungnir. Would you consider the cost difference worthwhile, or is the difference in SQ negligible?- runningwithscissors

Gustard X26 Pro Dual ES9038PRO DAC
The X26 Pro arrived today and I’ve got it hooked up and listening to Wildflowers as I write this. I’ve got to admit that it sounds pretty dang good. Better than I was expecting to be honest. It matches the Mytek pretty closely, sound wise. Cymbals sound a little clearer with the Gustard...- runningwithscissors

Gustard X26 Pro Dual ES9038PRO DAC
Hi, new member here. I've been lurking on this thread for a while before finally posting. I'm expecting my X26 to arrive tomorrow and I'll be comparing it against my current DAC (Mytek Brooklyn DAC+). When you first started using the Gustard did you notice the harsh tone that others have...- runningwithscissors
