Heard back from Brandon about potentially selling my Elan+ back to them. They offer £380 ($481). I paid $560 (shipping not part of that). I had thought I paid $600 or a little more, so maybe £380 isn't too bad. But I'm undecided. They show a bit of wear, but not bad.

Yes. I've had the Clear (OG) for close to 21 months (in fact, if I remember right, I got them the same week the Bathys were announced). To say I love them is understating it.

As someone new to the world of audiophilia via vinyl recordings (about 11 months now), I'm always a little astonished at how good music sounds on the Clear coming from a turntable.

Regarding polarity, Brandon replied: "This was only relevant for the original R1 from 2017/18 and has no bearing on any other product." So ... differences people are hearing must be from actually reversing the polarity I guess. (Once again, Brandon replying and not Bob. Interesting).

In simple terms, then, reversing the polarity is putting the prongs in "backwards", right? Which could be a little awkward with earhooks. Maybe I'll try, but I don't recall any difference with 3rd party cables versus IMR cables.

Also agree. I got the Timeless just a few weeks after getting the Elan back in 2021. Timeless were good, but they definitely lacked the presence of the Elan, and they didn't get much ear time. I sold them after 6 months because I just wasn't using them.

I have the FiiO M11 Plus and I'm very fond of it. The R9 seems like (and maybe it is) a very nice device. Fun, even. If my desktop DAC/Amp were to fail, I might choose that as a replacement, even though it's more than I'd want to spend. But then again, anything else probably would be too.

I think the reverse polarity was "debunked" a year or more ago.
