ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
That's a bit rude, mate. In this forum people should be free to even ramble on, provided they don't offend anybody, without self-appointed opinion police coming down on them. A bit of courtesy goes a mile, after all most of us are amateurs giving our twopence-worth of nonsense in here.- gentzen

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
Your description is spot on, agrees well with my experience. My genres are mostly metal and post-punk/hardcore related, as well as synth-heavy goth-like music, so plenty of low end there. Tool is a good example from post-hardcore, Chelsea Wolfe might be another. I'd say it's not so much that...- gentzen

New model Cowon - Plenue D2
PD2 was my first DAP and what a powerful little beastie it was! Literally pocket size, reliable (albeit with a rather outdated UI), massive battery time, really good EQ options. It's not on the same calibre as Chord Mojo 2, I don't think, but it's super portable and should now be fairly cheap. I...- gentzen

New model Cowon - Plenue D2
Risks adding noise between the two amplifications (at potentially different S/N ratios) and distorting the signal. It's not disastrous (won't damage your equipment or anything like that) and distortion can vary from barely audible to clearly audible. Although it's better to have a signal...- gentzen

New model Cowon - Plenue D2
Hello, talking about PD2, from what I remember it doesn't have a proper line-out (like, you don't get an analog signal that bypasses the amp), so you're looking at double amplification if you connect to an external amp. I don't recall it having any other connectivity either (like co-axial S/PDIF...- gentzen

DX320MAX Ti The musical event worth the wait. ROHM X 4. !! NEW Firmware: 2.03 !!
Good point. I'm on Gain 1, dig vol. 100%, analog vol. 80%, with ThieAudio Prestige Ltd, which has a fairly smooth U curve, mildly recessed mids, good bass slam (but not so much rumble in the subbass region) and relatively bright uppers (but nothing too strong, fatiguing or sibilant).- gentzen

DX320MAX Ti The musical event worth the wait. ROHM X 4. !! NEW Firmware: 2.03 !!
Wow, my impression is quite the other way round to yours  . I had the Ti, which I found similar to the sound 320Max produces through Mango Android: bright, resolving but less dense and heavy sound, slightly leaner. 320Max through Mango OS to me sounds equally resolving, but darker...- gentzen

You've got a point there. Not sure the sound is audibly different (it certainly is not worse than the stock cable, but is it better? I've not had time to A/B). There are a few points to consider in such a purchase. I already have a TOTL DAP and am not interested in non-portable, desktop...- gentzen

I knew about E7, which is out, but where did you read about LP7? I was aware it was a project for at least a couple of years now, but is there any info on the DAC and amp board used, or specs, etc?- gentzen

Finally, my Liquid Links cable for the Prestige LTD has arrived and it's a beauty. I have not yet done an A/B with the stock cable, but both build-wise and soundwise the Ebua II certainly does not disappoint.- gentzen

I too think it's a good choice. They're very balanced across the spectrum and lack in no department (or, as critics might say, jacks of all trades but masters of none, still I like them that way). Your DAP/DAC-Amp system will also play a role, as will tips. I found audible differences (quite...- gentzen

Yeah, I'm off next week on a work trip to Liverpool, England, and I'm putting on the Deep Mounts to give them another run, cos I did enjoy the bass presentation on these. (My partner rolls her eyes over this entire hobby and the cost of components and accessories).- gentzen

After @JAnonymous5150's suggestion, I tip rolled between the Azla SednaEarfit Max and the Radius Deep Mount NE. Found the Radius tips to have a slightly narrower presentation with mids (e.g., voice) more recessed. Bass guitar rumble was slightly more accentuated and there was a perceptible...- gentzen

Still waiting for the Eros S Ann. ed. to arrive. It is out of stock with Hifonix (despite appearing available on their website), so it's now a backorder. Back when I ordered it they said 3 weeks, which makes it this coming Monday, so lets' see. I'll mention my impressions when I get it. However...- gentzen

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
1. I listen mostly to metal genres (different types of core as well as classic heavy metal), post-punk, synth-heavy music (dark wave, cold wave, gothic rock), some 80s like Depeche Mode, Dance Society, etc. Complex or "packed" passages, not very much acoustic. 2. I am mostly into detail and...- gentzen

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
Elise Audio (UK) had stock, I re-ordered mine about a week ago and received them within a few days from order. Back in November (when I ordered my first pair), again it had only taken a couple of weeks. Perhaps they're OS with US suppliers. On another note, it's interesting how diverse (and...- gentzen

The 2-pin connector coming off the iem shell and massively hurting my pocket was one thing. It happened twice (before I finally lost the iem), but not from the start, rather a few months into using them, hence I was not expecting it. The 4-pin connector to the 4.4 termination, on the other hand...- gentzen

Have to say, I've been unlucky with my cable. I bought a second pair of Prestige LTD, as I found their sound to be really great for the price bracket (and out of my DAP), but I'm not using it with the stock cable, waiting instead for an Eros 1 Anniv. ed. cable to arrive. Meanwhile, my partner...- gentzen

I take my DX320Max out on walks (and trips) regularly, so don't let bulk discourage you. I prefer a small backpack anyway to having it in my jacket pocket (it doesn't fit trouser pockets, unless you're a 7fter), it's safer like this from slips/falls when you go about hiking in mud/slush/icy...- gentzen

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
That's a really good (and, I feel, fair) review. One slight divergence of opinions is bass, for some metal genres (e.g, metalcore, where I feel the Prestige's fast but articulated slam and impact, but without too much sub-bass rumble makes it more enjoyable to my ears and does not steel the...- gentzen

Depends on how much you want to spend (and whether you are a believer in cables being able to alter sound noticeably, a rather controversial topic on this forum ). I am not sure I believe this. On the other hand, I wanted a well-constructed cable with properties reported by reviewers...- gentzen
