Audiobyte Hydra Stack: Hydra.Vox + Hydra.Hub + Hydra Zap
Greetings to all. It is my understanding that the 'Hub can be used as a digital preamplifier. I guess you have to connect the Vox RCA outputs to a power amp. Also, in the Audiobyte specifications they mention a 32-bit volume control.... I imagined they were referring to the volume control on the...- Franco66

Audiobyte Hydra Stack: Hydra.Vox + Hydra.Hub + Hydra Zap
As a source I could connect the CD in coaxial. But I have no 192/24 CD And anyway I think it's an electronic problem with the HUB I'm exchanging information with Audiobyte on Messenger. I explained everything to them and they told me they will do what is necessary to solve it. Let's see what...- Franco66

Last combination tried and nothing changes. That is, there is always the noise. USB out from the NUC and coaxial from the HUB to the VOX.- Franco66

I was in LAN and after it warmed up the HUB started to make the noise. I plugged in the USB cable and it still does it. So at this point I think it's really a problem with the HUB on this particular streaming frequency.- Franco66

Audiobyte Hydra Stack: Hydra.Vox + Hydra.Hub + Hydra Zap
Yesterday I directly connected the NUC via USB to VOX and it would not do it. Today I will try connecting the NUC again with USB to the HUB and see if it does. I think though that if it was a network or otherwise connection problem it should do it right away. The strange thing instead is that...- Franco66

Audiobyte Hydra Stack: Hydra.Vox + Hydra.Hub + Hydra Zap
Unfortunately, over the weekend I found that the crackling defect with recordings on Roon with a frequency of 192Khz/24bit is always present. But the strange thing is that it does it only when the stack has been on for at least 2 hours so well warm. When cold it doesn't do it. It is not a big...- Franco66

Only the input frequency is shown on the Vox display. On the output it is not known whether it does Upsampler at 256 or 512 at least that is my understanding. It depends on the FW but I in my Vox don't know.... This is another function that would have been very useful to have.- Franco66

OK, thank you. But in theory when a DSD signal arrives at the Vox it should in (DSD DIRECT ON) not do a double conversion. Right?- Franco66

Audiobyte Hydra Stack: Hydra.Vox + Hydra.Hub + Hydra Zap
Good evening, everyone. I ask a stupid question but I swear I didn't understand..... If on VOX DSD DIRECT is set to ON everything that arrives via USB or I2s is converted to DSD 256/512 right? If so, another question: is it converted to 256 or 512? If DSD DIRECT is set to OF, does it not convert...- Franco66

I solved it. I moved the two 10Gteks by putting them in another position and now it doesn't do it anymore. Probably there was some interference before....- Franco66

Buon pomeriggio a tutti.

Tonight I listened to music with the new solution suggested by m-i-c-k-e-y. I tested for differences before my brain got used to the change. The improvement is there. It's hard to explain... it's like a beautiful sunny day that suddenly becomes clearer and brighter where the colours stand out...- Franco66

Watching the video you put the link to, I saw that he uses the fiber optic cable with the two plugs inserted and that's why I didn't understand. Then I saw that he has the dual LC In the end it is the same thing right?- Franco66

Hello. I got the Gtek - In the component list I got the duplex fiber optic cable but the Bidi SFPs are Singlemode. Panicked I thought I made a mistake then I saw that the two optical cables come apart and I connected only one right? Now I am trying then I will let you know about the...- Franco66

Sampling in DSD actually has no positive effect even on the HUB. The best solution is PCM 705/768 HQ player I think does not make sense as it is not necessarily that in DSD sampling is always better. The ears are there to judge which is the best sounding- Franco66

Bye and have a good Sunday. No on the menu no possibility to configure I2s. I think it is their protocol. With the hub comes an I2s cable marked Audiobyte.- Franco66

As I said in response to nikolaindigo for the best sound quality I did a series of tests ( I have very revealing speakers ) and in my system the best solution is PCM 705/768 only Roon Rock and HUB via LAN.- Franco66

I saw the video and products at the links you posted in the other thread. Very interesting and definitely helpful. In my case I ask you if they can be of use because the 1 meter LAN cable that goes to the HUB starts directly from the Router with my ADSL sim not having us in the house wired line..- Franco66
