I moved from U18 to Holo Red with the Holo Spring 3 KTE and is 2 steps better in my taste, If you like use the R26 with Holo Red via I2s, check the pinout I don't think it works properli with DSD.... so...

I tested HQplayer upsampling, interesting but at the end I'm back to NOS setting in my Holo Spring 3 KTE DAC, If you love acoustics music the natural and organic sound I think is the best in my taste. Holo Red add resolution and trasparency (and also a big soundstage), Also life licence to Roon...

I'm using Spring 3 KTE with Holo Red via I2s with no dubts in my system sound a lot better then Roon Rock (on fanless i5 PC) via USB direct and also from the Red as a roon endpoint streamer and via USB to the DAC.

I tested many upsampling setting via Roon and HQplayer, but at the end I went back to NOS pure. If you like the acoustics music, this is the most similar, the fluidity of natural analog sound for me is the best.

Yes... Unfortunatelly the Gustard is out of stock... In my system the Gustard sound more "Analogical" very relaxed but a bit less extended in the high freq. then the AVplay HD-300. Nb: the HD-300 need around 100 h for the broken in, then for me sound very relaxed and dynamic and more complete...
