I run the JDS Labs El Amp II+. Powerful and clean. My Cayin RU7 DAC/AMP feeds it in line out mode for some added warm musicality.

The screen does turn off automatically. Also volume is controlled on the unit instead of your Macbook.

Interesting how versatile these cans are for various styles. I'm very much into the folk styles of music like alternative country, blues, and jazz. The full bodied sound as you mentioned previously is really enjoyable with these genres.

Yeah it works really well for these genres. I don't listen the beep boop music or fast stuff.

Thanks. I plugged the RU7 into my phone and didn't experience any humming. Tried an ifi idenfender between the computer and the RU7, no effect.

Maybe you guys can help. When i plug my Hidiz MP145 IEM's into the balanced output I get a really strong hum. I touch the headphone connector or the RU7 and it goes away. I don't get a hum with the SE output going to my Meze 109 Pro's. Thoughts?

When I tried this I found the overall sound signature to be darker, that shelf after 10k made the top end a lot less spicy but lost a lot of air. I messed with a few EQ's that you can read in this thread, but ultimately the 109's sounded better to me without EQ. EQ1: Preamp: -4.4 dBFilter 1...

I can say pretty confidently that the RU7 mates incredibly well with the Meze 109 Pros. Really improved their resolution, midbass, and tamed the sizzle without losing the air. I can't believe I was languishing in mediocrity with the Topping DX3 Pro+.

Yes for sure they do respond to different electronics. I just replaced my Topping Dx3 Pro+ with the Cayin RU7 which does have less power, yet I'm hearing more into the music somehow. My next step is to do line out from the Cayin into an amp.

Gah I see you have the same struggles I have. It was a real toss up between the Arya V2's and the 109's for me. I liked the Arya sound better, but I needed something with high build quality and comfort more which caused me to choose the 109's.

I just got my RU7. Sounding good single ended, but I also wonder about the balanced connection.
