I have the Total DAC D1 Unity in here now and the Aqua La Scala...Doing the same thing. Thought highly of the LS (La Scala) at first but upon extensively listening it lack bass in my system, like really lacks bass. The Total DAC is mind blowingly good in every possible way. End game DAC for sure.

Agreed the pulse line is more flexible...The new Pulsar input module should be great too. They are going to be showing it at Axpona, so more flexibility with that model as well.

Thanks for the validation...What is the your source into the Helene? Any clocking prior to the Helene? As TheR0v3r pointed out the Helene has a double reclock capability so wonder if the Phoenix will be needed. I might just have to try it either way but be interested if someone has already.

I used to have a K50 and used Roon, it's great for integration, but the clear winner in my system was Innuos with sense. I wouldn't go back to Roon, Innuos was smart and realized if they can get you hooked on the software it's would put a dent in the amount of Roon users.

Software controls the hardware..Well written software and drivers will in fact yield better results in how the hardware performs and ultimately produce better sound. It's part of the reason the sense software sounds better than Roon. It's well writtten, and written specifically for Innuos...

Out of these 3 DACs you mention above which did you prefer most? I've owned the Discrete may be getting a Helene, but if it's close to the Discrete I'd likely pass for the money...Been there done that, had the Discrete for over 4 years. thanks..I have a guy in Vietnam (HNE Audio Designs) who makes these power supplies was thinking of commissioning one with him. All the same parts similar design. My issue is my DAC is AES and SPDIF only (Audio Note) so I wouldn't see the benefit of the Phoenix reclocking..Probably better off...
