Meze EMPYREAN II
It doesn't have to be Hifiman vs Meze. I own both HE1000se and Empyrean II. They're different, yes. Their technical abilities are different, yes. But so does my moods for a certain type of sound from time to time. HE1000se shows everything as is, without regard to the quality of the recording or...- aurimasma

Hifiman HE1000-SE
Give a try for Empy 2. It's kind of a mix between He1000se and OG Empy. Well, not really a mix, but it's the best way I know how to describe what I'm trying to say. It's not up there in technicalities department with He1000se, but it's way less fatiguing and it has a tonality which could be what...- aurimasma

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions
I'm glad you like them. EQ is the saving grace for dt1770 here. Without EQ they're pretty bad: overdone base, not enough sub base, some very hideous treble peaks. In general, not a pleasant headphone with factory tuning.- aurimasma

Meze Audio introduces LIRIC 2nd Generation - The Art of Evolution
Has anyone had an opportunity to compare Liric 2 to Empyrean 2 or Empyrean OG? I know that they are of a completely different breed (closed, open), but what I'm interested mostly is in tonality differences (Meze house sound or warmth). It is said that Liric 2 brings back some midrange and...- aurimasma

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions
I do. I think they take eq quite well. And they sound like harman target tuned headphones after eq, which is the point. If you're asking about technicalities - they're ok, but not great (it depends on what you compare them with of course). I have he1000se, he6se v2, Empyrean 2 and hence, I...- aurimasma

Audio-gd DI24/DI24HE
Correct me if I'm wrong, but what you're saying is that they are already synced if connected over i2s connection?- aurimasma

Audio-gd DI24/DI24HE
DI24HE has 50ohm and 75ohm clock outputs. So I asked Audio-GD support (I was answered not by Kingwa, but by Channel) if it was beneficial to sync up clocks between DI24HE and R-27HE. Basically DI24HE would act as an external clock for R-27HE. The answer suppressed me: The sound quality using...- aurimasma

Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone
I wasn't trying to say that they (Diana MR and he1000 series) sound or feel similar. They have their differences. What I was trying to say, that if one is not satisfied with the Hifiman build and Empy2 technicalities, one could try Diana MR. Which in my book has both. That's not to say that...- aurimasma

Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone
I really can't comment on Bluetooth dongles as I have never used one with any of my Hifimans. But what works best for me is a R-2R dac pared with a good class A amplifier. You could take a look at some of the AudioGD offerings like r27he (it even has a regenerative power supply). Also I've heard...- aurimasma

Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone
I own HE1000se, HE1000 Stealth and had Empy2 on lone for a couple of days. Here's my take on all of them: 1. Stealth is wonder headphone for the price it's going now. A true no brainer. 2. SE is tiny bit better in all aspects you can think of (just a very very tiny bit). But it costs 1/3 more...- aurimasma

Audio-GD DI-20
Just ordered di24he. My plan is to connect it to my r27he with i2s (hdmi form factor) connection. I was planning also to make use of di24he bnc clock output and use it as an external clock for my r27he. I have a couple VS type of questions: 1. Am I better off using di24he as an external...- aurimasma

I have a similar question about di20he and ock2. I own and love r27he. Would I benefit from additionally getting di20he and/or ock2? Also is there any benefit for me in getting a usb isolator (something like ifi iGalvanic3 or similar)?- aurimasma

Hifiman HE1000-SE
Which of the 4 types of compatible with he1000se Dekoni pads would you guys have/like/recommend? Measurement vise they all are pretty close (Elite Sheepskin having the biggest dip in treble vs og pads). Does it only comes down to preference and aesthetics or is there more to it?- aurimasma

Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone
I own Arya v2 (not the stealth version) and I love it. I was thinking about upgrading it to either HEK stealth or HEKse. What I'm looking for is a higher level of technical performance, but with a relatively similar sound signature to Arya v2. Which one of the two would be tuned closer to Arya...- aurimasma
