GUSTARD H10 High-current Discrete Class A output Stage Headphone Amplifier
I meant that just place a big old cpu cooler on top of the amp, it helps to dissipate the heat, so the amp won't overheat.- Remusz911

GUSTARD H10 High-current Discrete Class A output Stage Headphone Amplifier
Interestingly, after I changed the Burson v5i-s to v6 vivids, I was expecting that it would run even hotter, I was thinking maybe I shouldn't put back the lid. But the opposite happened, now it doesn't get that warm, only lukewarm at most to the touch. I guess this is because the V6-s have...- Remusz911

Who would refuse such a gift? Maybe your nephew was just humble, and didn't want to accept such an expensive gift from you. Maybe it was not paired well with his amp+dac, so it was a disappointment. If not paired well, you might not like it. Many people say it's a bit too bright. It is, but you...- Remusz911

I just recently had the chance to listen to the Hifiman Susvara again for about one hour, but did not have the ADX5000 with me there. So I compare from memory. Pictures Source: Philips CD100 (with tuning or some upgrade I don't know exactly) --> TMP Ant --> Susvara Comfort is about the same...- Remusz911

Search for user "pataburd" in this thread, there is a Focal Utopia comparison. And there is HD800S comparision also (mine). I guess with tube amps, the bass may not be so tight.- Remusz911

GUSTARD H10 High-current Discrete Class A output Stage Headphone Amplifier
I currently have a pair of Burson v6 Vivid singles and Burson v5i Duals, they provide a precise, clean, rather spacious presentation, not to much bass in volume, but tight bass. Also the highs do not tend to hurt my ears, which is also good. The overall sound is excellent to my ears. I wonder...- Remusz911

Interesting review It confirms what I already wrote here, that the ADX5000 is an upgrade from the HD800S. It's comparable with the expensive Utopia.- Remusz911

Topping E70 Velvet DAC Review, Measurements and Comparisons
Well, I the supposedly better USB cable has arrived, I don't really hear much difference, it sounds just as good with the factory Topping cable. If I said it sounds better, I would just justify my purchase, that I spent money on this. It definitely looks better, but it's behind my desk so it...- Remusz911

I also think it would not improve the signal that much, but I am curious. Would you buy this one in 0.5m? It's not that expensive: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004358188212.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.5de038darsjzpt&mp=1 Or which one would you try...- Remusz911

Introducing the SMSL SU-1 MQA DAC on Apos Audio: Compact Design, Hi-Res Audio
Has anyone compared the SMSL SU-1 to the Massdrop X Grace Design Standard DAC ? I was very satisfied with my SDAC, low price and high quality sound. The SU-1 looks like a worthy successor, how do they compare? Just curious. Has anyone compared them?- Remusz911

I also think a good pairing DAC for the ADX5000 is the Topping E70V DAC Pictures , it was a clear upgrade from my SDAC Pictures The main difference compared to the SDAC are the details, especially in the bass section is the biggest improvement, but the mids have also improved, maybe the highs...- Remusz911

Topping E70 Velvet DAC Review, Measurements and Comparisons
Well, on my local "audiophile" forum (semi-amateur) they were so adamant that if I have such an expensive setup, just buy a new USB cable, because if the USB cable is not high quality, then jitter or other noise may transfer into the DAC and eventually into your headphones. I did not really...- Remusz911

Yeah, I also think the factory cable is okay, but in my local forum they said I should buy a better USB cable, if I spent so much money on this already. Do you experience a difference in sound quality, if you switch between the Factory Topping USB cable and the Audioquest Cinnamon USB cable?- Remusz911

When I had the HD800S they said the German-made Violectric amps pair well with the HD800S, and it is true. Here the Violectric amps are good with the Sennheiser: https://www.headphoneer.com/hd800-amplifier-review/ Also here on Head-Fi, they generally praise Violectric + HD800S. Well, the...- Remusz911

Well, prices fluctuate, at the moment it is under 2000 euros at the cheapest shop. In German Amazon, it's exactly 2000 euros + shipping. So it's over 2000 euros with shipping. It has a huge box, so shipping might be expensive. The box I don't like, it's too big, where to put it.- Remusz911

It all depends on your wallet. I personally bought a used one in good condition for 1180 euros. The new one was almost twice the price. Never say this will be your forever headphone BTW, you never know. You might find a good planar or electrostat in the future.- Remusz911

My ears can fit inside it, so first of all more comfort, second thing is I think it improves the soundstage a tiny bit because it gives the drivers an angle and slightly more distance from your ears, also takes away from the highs and adds to the bass in my opinion.- Remusz911
