You might need to change your inputs to get the extended treble? What factory code did you find on these EL84 (below the rX type code)?- triod750

I'm sorry Deleeh, I can only find my E80CC:s from the fifties right now and they have D-getters and thick glass with pinched waist. I have a couple of 'modern' versions like yours too, somewhere. They also have 'ring' or 'halo' getters but I don't remeber the size of these. I will look for them...- triod750

For 6AS7G tube rollers here .....
I guess this might depend on in which amp/circuit you are using them and maybe the whole setup. I bought a quad of GEC 6AS7g a few years ago, intended for a friend in US. He suggested we should split it in a pair for us each. I tested them for function in my amp, briefly, and then compared them...- triod750

If the photo from your eBay link shows your tube, my best guess is the better one. But maybe you bought it from Germany? If so, it comes from Germany :)- triod750

For 6AS7G tube rollers here .....
The difference between 1961 and 1981 isn't big, if it even exists, but these tubes compare well to 6080/6AS7G so they are worth having. But don't speak about this. That would make them disappear from the market at a much higher price :zipper_mouth:- triod750

For 6AS7G tube rollers here .....
Do you mean CV4079? I have CV4079 from 1981 bought from Langrex and also a quad of them from July 1961 bought from this seller https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265348682503 They seem to be old stock from Bundeswehr and they were cheaper and I like them better. This could be just in my head but if so...- triod750

If you are interested in possible information about your tubes you could check the codes and write them down before cleaning them. I have Valvo branded E80CC made by Philips in Heerlen and I have Philips branded tubes made by Valvo in Hamburg. I also have Mullard branded E80CC made by Philips in...- triod750

This is a photo of your tube and I see a code low down, below bottom mica through the glass and the first digit looks like the Heerlen factory code. I can't see the date code that comes after.- triod750

I don't doubt what you are saying. Sometimes codes have rubbed off or are very difficult to see, you can need just the right angle of light to be able to see them. Since EL84 was introduced by Mullard in 1954 they might not have fully implemented the Philips code system. Otherwise I would have...- triod750

I expect it to be rX1, the type and change code for EL84. RX1 would be CCH35. But I'm more interested of what is missing, the digits below the type code. They are the factory and date code. And I guess the first EL84 would have either no change code or 0 as change code.- triod750

Could the TFK branded EZ81 have been made by Siemens? They made a lot of tubes for TFK, without diamond in bottom glass. From Mullard or any other Philips factory you would expect a code on the side of the glass at the level of bottom mica. I have one Lorenz branded EZ 80 with an 'inverted' 18...- triod750
