I don't believe it does a double conversion. Pretty sure ChatGPT got this one wrong.

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

Airmusic is probably the best for Android 10+ or rooted devices. It's not free, but does have a trial version to test with. Another option is AirConnect (a helper app) that converts to UPnP or Chromecast but has to run on a PC on the same network. Both options can be tricky to set up. Note...

    NEW HiBy R4

Interesting, I don't have the R4 but my R5 and R6 Pro play Apple Music hi-res at the correct sample rates, I have seen from 44.1 to 192 kHz on the status bar. I would have expected the R4 to do the same. Do you have hi-res lossless enabled in the Apple Music settings? It isn't enabled by default.

Of course I just made up the 90%... The point was that you can get a very good Sony experience without spending thousands of $$$... ;)

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

I think you are doing the right thing here (and I appreciate the transparency). There are ways to get Airplay on Android (helper apps, etc.) but most aren't worth the effort and frustration for the result.

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

It doesn't support Airplay at all. There are Play Store apps that may work but YMMV.

Yes, I believe you need the BubbleUPnP server on your network to add Openhome support for Rigelian. You can use the mConnect app instead which supports standard UPnP (no BubbleUPnP server needed).

I don't know of any way to use the offline library. Neither the Tidal or Qobuz native apps can stream to Poly directly. You can use apps like BubbleUPnP though to stream to the Poly over UPnP but the offline library does not work. There are also MPD apps that can stream but again no offline...

I'm mostly using Rigelian on my iPhone/iPad and MacBook for both MPD (SD card) and Qobuz. mConnect works well also via UPnP (as you said)...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

The Apple iPhone dongles (Lightning or USB-C) are actually very good sound quality wise and can drive the SE846 well (and have low impedance). I doubt you will detect a night and day difference. But... this is a fun hobby and I don't want to discourage experimenting... ;)

What Qobuz integration? You can stream Qobuz via MPD or UPnP, depending on your device and app. What are using as a source, Android, iOS, PC, Mac?

Roon is most useful on your local network and it supports Hi-Res and DSD. They do have an app called Roon ARC that works externally but I don't know how to connect wirelessly with Poly in Hi-Res. You can, however, use the mConnect app to stream Hi-Res Tidal and Qobuz both internally and...

Poly supports UPnP/DLNA, MPD, Airplay and Roon. For Apple Music and Youtube, Airplay is the only choice AFAIK. Maybe other users know better ways, but I haven't discovered them.

aptX Adaptive / aptX Lossless USB Transmitters

Yes, it works on my iPhone 15 Pro as well as my iPad mini 6. Of course you have to configure on a PC or Mac, but the settings are saved on the device.

xDSD Gryphon: birth of a ‘head-fi’ legend

Thanks! aptX Adaptive is a bit of a cluster####. Some devices support only 48 kHz at 420 kbps while others do 96 kHz and 860 kbps (all within the QCC 5100 family and all called aptX adaptive). I'm pretty sure aptX lossless is just another revision that goes up to 1200 kbps. It's all...

xDSD Gryphon: birth of a ‘head-fi’ legend

@iFi audio I'm still interested if the aptX Adaptive can be upgraded to 96 kHz (from 48 kHz), perhaps through a BT firmware update?

Yes, no problem. I do that all the time with my balanced IEM/Headphones... This is the one I use, it seems to unavailable now. I have also used one from ddHiFi that's just an adapter rather than a short cable (DJ44C). https://www.fiio.com/productinfo/114157.html
