Yeah much bigger to my ears. I spent a good solid week at e-earphone comparing the two and every time the soundstage and imaging impressed me more on the 1ZM2. The 1AM2 sounded faster but the 1ZM2 had more weight to the sound (especially the bass)

From my personal testing (and decision). The soundstage was very noticeable on the 1ZM2 vs the 1AM2 with the IER-Z1R. Plus the extra warmness.

Silly question but where are playlists located at on the file system? On the WM1Z, they were simply m3u files on the root MUSIC folder but not seeing it this time around

Yup the warmness goes very well. Bass sounds fast and thick, calm trebles, and I feel the holographic nature of the DMP really shines with the Empyrean's

The Meze Empyreans (elite and og) sound huge with the DMP

Comparing the Wm1zm2to the Wm1z, the scanning is significantly faster. Not sure but I don't think it actually scans the whole library anymore on boot up?

Joining the fun. Was very impressed with the new Z2 after some good listening sessions at e-earphone. New Z2 definitely does seem to inherit some of the DMPness. Sounds faster compared to the original 1Z and has a bit of that sweet imaging from the DMP

I’ve tried so many different setups at e-earphone and came to the conclusions of: Headphones: Meze Empyrean IEMs: Just Ears listening tune The empyreans really goes so well with that 3d sound that the DMP does so incredibly well. And the just ears sound so clear, almost too clear sometimes lol

I'm not too fond of the MDR-Z1R's with the DMP either. It sounds congested and something about it but it's not enjoyable to me. MDR-Z1R's with the TAZ or a WM1Z sounds fantastic though.

I typically turn it off if I'm in battery mode. If plugged into AC, I leave it on the whole time.

WM1Z with Bright Tuning on J3 and the 7hz timeless is seriously impressive While I really loved the warm sounds of the WM1Z tuning, the bright tuning really impresses me with how well the imaging works here. Instruments really separate, especially left and right

FWIW, J3 hits just right with all of the IEMs I've used

Does anyone know what type of filters are used in these? (The yellow foam filter that is)

Picked up the VanNuys case with charger compartment. Made the mistake of going overseas for two weeks and forgetting the charger 😅 this case should help me avoid that scenario

2 trips to Tokyo and finally got mine in :beyersmile: Brought my DMP on the first trip to e-earphone and Sony Ginza to give all of the available tunings a listen. e-earphone had the basic three tunings available for listening while Sony Ginza also had the device specific tunings also...

I had to go to Japan to get these done. Sony has a place in Shibuya that can do the moldings, you can also go to e-earphones custom earphone shop and schedule the moldings there as well

Yes very good thing 😆 Both SA-Z1 and this tune of the Justears have a bit of a cooler sound profile. Very wide sounding, very very clear, and the imaging is seriously crazy. I’ve only been listening to it a few days but love these on both the WM1Z and DMP. DMP sounds like it takes it a few...
