    Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite

Hello all, Im considering picking up either a 6, 6se or 2 for the heart of my new system. Its going to be used in combination with k701's as well as DT990's (600 ohm) and maybe some grado's or ultrasones later on.   Music is mostly metal, as well as some jazz and classical. Source is...

Many thanks for that suggestion, I might have some reading to do in the gamma 2 thread!

Seeking source to complete my new system. (schiit valhalla + K701)

That seems like it would be far out of my price range. At this point I think im just looking for a quality DAC around the 3-400 mark. I've been reading around here and it seems I have a lot of choices. Anyone know what would sound better (or worse) with a tube amp and some K701's? For reference...

Seeking source to complete my new system. (schiit valhalla + K701)

That seems like a solid option, though im unsure i will be able to find one within my price range. Looks like I have some digging around to do! I am also debating the whole good CD player vs PC to DAC thing. I have all of my music in CD format for the most part, so it really doesn't seem to...

Seeking source to complete my new system. (schiit valhalla + K701)

I'm running a $1000 budget here, so less the amp and depending on the headphones I have around $350-400 to play with here for a source.I am seeking a unit with multiple digital inputs so i can attach my computers optical output, as well as the digital output of a disc source (currently an lg...

    Chicago mini-meet on 8-2-08 Impressions

Where to begin....I got home at about 3:30 today, which made it about 6.5 hours of driving (@ 90 MPH ) First and foremost, I'd like to thank Germania not only for hosting the meet, but offering me a place to stay for the night. I would not have been to come at all otherwise. Second, to Ray...

    Chicago Mini-Meet - August 2nd

I am about 99% sure I'm coming now, so if there are any HF members that live along the way from KC to Chicago, let me know and I can swing by and pick you up! I'm heading up 35, across 80 through Iowa, and then 88 in to chicagoland. I can take a different route, so long as you help with...

    Chicago Mini-Meet - August 2nd

Germania may be able to accommodate me, but I figure I will just play it by ear after the meet ends. I will be driving, so going into the city is no big deal, as long as there is a safe place to park my car.

    Chicago Mini-Meet - August 2nd

Could anyone provide a place for me to crash on Saturday night? If so, I would be able to come, and bring the GS1000's I currently have on loan from Zanth via the loaner program. Willing to pay some cash, or whatever to the person who can help me out here.

GS-1000 via Zanth's headphone loan program

Just wanted to post an update, as I have had the chance to spend about 4-5 hours time just listening to them. Thus far I have only managed to use them straight from the headphone out of my Mac Pro. All I can really say is this: If this is what they sound like without any proper amplification...

What's MPG you've got from your car?

08 Mazdaspeed 3: Average city driving is about 16-18 if you drive hard, but I average about 22. Highway is about 26 average, can go + or - depending on foot placement. Its a real rocket, and if you can keep it out of the turbo's "boost" range, you can get good mileage.

RCA splitter/switchbox question (from source to amp)

Just go grab a pair of RCA splitters. They are inexpensive, and will not kill the signal quality. In fact, pay the postage, and I will send you a pair for free.

Calling all Adventurous DIYer's: $200 if you can build it

I was just offering money to someone to do the dirty work for me. Plus, if they could integrate a millet "min" or max, that would be awesome.

Calling all Adventurous DIYer's: $200 if you can build it

the phone puts out a pretty good amount of power, and it does have a volume control for the headset. Plus, I was planning on amping the AKG k701's I would be using as headphones. I think I will put the amp in the chain before the box, and then simply send the output as a pass-through to the box.

Calling all Adventurous DIYer's: $200 if you can build it

correct, this is what I need. Only the second input to the switch needs to be 1/8. Also, I thought it would be better to run the 4p4c cable from the phone to the switch, and output the mic from the box.

Calling all Adventurous DIYer's: $200 if you can build it

I chopped open a cable and found out there are four wires inside. Looks like all I need now is for someone to use one of he above adapters, and build a source switcher. If I was using a soft-phone, I could use a normal headset and mic, but alas, that is not and option. The "pin...

    Darkest Desires Part V

I wanted to revive the thread to mention a new band I just heard. Divine Heresy - Bleed the Fifth While its not the longest album, it has some really catchy riffs, and a hell of a lot of double bass (some of which is really really fast!) The drummer also does this thing where he plays a...
