Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX
I’d like to know as well. I could never get my 300r to pair with any dac through its USB port. It always freezed up and crashed.- Hay2104

Nope, the music will keep playing regardless of whether a 3.5mm or balanced connector is plugged in. It will only stop when you press pause or when the app crashes or resets.- Hay2104

BTW I’m using ArticCables. Out of the custom cables, they are yet to fail on me. I did use periapts at one point but the physical cable was too heavy. Not to mention the failed 2.5mm cable that was created by “cablearchitect”- Hay2104

Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX
Nope. When connecting a 3.5mm cable headphone, a little headphone symbol will appear. When connecting a 2.5mm in balanced, the headphone will not appear but it still plays.- Hay2104

Who’d you buy the adapter from? I don’t know what it is about balanced 2.5mm cables, but out of 5 cables that cost me $30 to $80 dollars, only 1 cable ended up being NOT faulty. You probably got a lemon. Time demand a prepaid return label.- Hay2104

Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX
It’s a crapshoot. Mine never wanted to support any kind of dac/amp. Regardless of what adapter/usb cable I plugged into it. From ifi adapters to custom cable adapters I tried amp to dac combos in the bunch and the results were always the same. Connect, freeze, crash. Went ahead and tinkered...- Hay2104

Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX
My final adapter (and most reputable, pricy, etc) is showing up in a few days. Hopefully it will resolve the issue. If it doesn’t, then my balanced out is defective and I’ll have to get a separate amp since Pioneer customer support is borderline useless by email and incredibly rude on phone.- Hay2104

Pioneer XDP-300R | Twin DAC ES9018K2M | Balanced Out | Android | MQA | 2x MicroSD | WiFi | AptX
It will work so long as there is no imbalances in sound loudness in either left or right channel. Sound stage improves and bass tightness increases. That’s been the problem with every adapter I’ve tried the left side is always louder than the right side through balanced. already cross tested...- Hay2104

So this may seem like a dead forum, but after having my xdp 300r for a year I can give some impressions. It is a nifty little dac/amp. Pros for me: - nice clean sound - clean volume pot without any noise - expandable storage - decent weight so it stays put on my desk Cons - the unit is...- Hay2104

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
The Sennheiser momentum 2.0 I used to use was pretty good for me. They fit really well and had a nice kick in the bass compared to my open back headphones.- Hay2104

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
In regards to the sub bass of the hd 600, the closest I came to “fixing it” (that is if one considers it broken to begin with) was pairing it with a balanced cavalli liquid carbon x. The bass did come up quite a bit to the point that it felt a little more thumping. But I ended up returning the...- Hay2104

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I’ve gone ahead and tried modding my hd 600 with some dekoni sheepskin pads. Terrible idea on my part. Yes, they bring up the bass a bit in exchange for everything else - sound stage narrows even more than a normal hd 600. - mid range feels sucked out a bit, almost like it’s been reduced...- Hay2104

Review by 'Hay2104' on item 'beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO'
I recently had the dt 1990, and after having them for around 3 weeks I was able to determine their strengths and to who exactly they were targeted for. I’ll keep it short and simple while making comparisons to the largely revered Sennheiser hd 600. Build- Simply amazing. From the earpads, to...- Hay2104

Massdrop x Alex Cavalli Tube Hybrid Amp (CTH) - Dropping Monday
I got the Cavalli LCX with Grace Dac from MD not too long ago. It is no longer with me for a couple of reasons. Sound Tonality- fits well with the hd 600 or brighter headphones. Otherwise the amp adds a tonality that reminds me of a tube amp I tried but to a lesser degree. Build- beautiful...- Hay2104
