FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

Thanks for review but, haha, this remote control is ugliest thing I have seen in audio :D Anyway. I am owner of Fluxlab FA-12 (balanced version). If I remember right you also had it on your table. How would you compare it to the Mentor?

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

@LXMc Thank you for that. Especially for bass, since when I was comparing Auteur Classic with my currently beloved Quad-Era-1, I noticed that Auteur had significant quieter lower bass regions. Overally they sounded so pleasing that I could forgive that, but still.. ;)

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Im asking because ZMF Auteur are darn expensive for me. In my country distributors sell Auteur Classic (this I auditioned) for $2285, in ZMF shop its about $1500. They already announced that ZMF Bokeh will cost about $1500 (on ZMF USA store its about $900). Its all because of taxes from USA to...

As an owner of FA-12 (balanced) Im really curious of differencies in SQ between FA-12 and new Mentor Dual Mono. Anyone? What is FluxLab representative nickname here?

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

How is soundstage of Bokeh compared to Auteur/Auteur-Classic? Is it a huge difference or rather minor? I know Bokeh is closed back, but many writing here that they have decent soundstage so Im curious cause had opportunity to listen Auteur Classic and loved their spaciousness.

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Hello I have a question. Like 2 months ago I was in my fav local store to try my first ZMF ever, and it was Auteur Classic, I liked in so much from some SS amp (I dont remember which one) that I came back few days later with my ifi iTube2 to get a sneak-peak of how they can sound on my OTL in...

Astell&Kern ACRO CA1000 Carriable Headphone Amp

@OneEyedHito What I have in mind is: CA1000 lineout -> ifi iTube2 input and then ifi iTube2 output -> CA1000 amp input. So taking internal DAC output of CA1000, this signal goes to tube buffer (ifi iTube) and then its sending back to CA1000 amp section. ifi Itube2 is a tube preamp/buffer so it...

Astell&Kern ACRO CA1000 Carriable Headphone Amp

Thank you all for reply to my question. Anyway it wasnt exactly spot on but maybe I havent fully explained what I was asking about. I currently have desktop setup: SMSL M400 + FluxLab FA12 and prefer it fully balanced both. What I meant is a question if ACRO CA1000 is so good that can compete...

Astell&Kern ACRO CA1000 Carriable Headphone Amp

Has anyone experience with replacing his desktop dac + amp with Acro CA1000? Is it that good? And if so what DAC + AMP it was? I have heard CA1000 few times during last 2 weeks in my local audio stroe with Hifiman HE1000 v2 Stealth (amazing hps) and my own set of cans like Quad Era-1, Aeon 2C...

    The Stax Thread III

My other headphones are Aeon 2C and Quad Era-1 which have excellent extended bass, A2C has its even bumped a bit. Maybe that's the case. Anyway after I plugged my own DAC (SMSL M400) to D10 and using only AMP section from Stax D10, then everything sounds better, more powerful, with better bass...

    The Stax Thread III

I have borrowed Stax L700mk2 + SRM D10, and ... I am not amazed, lacking of low bass, lacking of midrange juice, only holography and separation is outstanding, but overal I expected more, comparing to rest of my headphones setups.

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

SMSL M400 -> XLR Mogami cables -> Little Dot MK3 SE (Bugle Boy tubes) -> Beyerdynamic DT880 600Ohm and Ozzy Osbourne, Jeff Beck - Patient Numner 9 on Tidal sounds exceptionally well despite this headphones are quite bass light normally (and from SS amps thats why I them on hybrid or OTL).

It's also my first and its excellent. I had two at same time to choose from, second was Marantz CD67 but imho it was too bright. CD63mkII has also better, fuller sounding headphone out, really outstanding quality but pretty high power, low impedance high efficent headphones are probably...

Nice review but I have one comment. You have written: "The 660 S has more sub-bass presence in its sound, whilst the Meze offering keeps its bass cleaner with better pace and recovery." Here is Meze 109 Pro measurment from @Resolve review: Here is HD660S measurment (from...

@musicday It will most probably change the sound quite much. Pads are very important and have huge influence on frequency response of certain headphones.
