Using this opportunity, I have to commend highly HeadFi moderation after all (and that woukd be as "old PhonoPhi" as it gets here). I have received the detailed answers to my inquisitive (and quite blunt/annoying) quiries - by far the most meaningful and fair compared to all my previous...

If that is the best that can be "incriminated" to me - it is really great. The science forum became a de facto ghetto sadly, and if any "EDI warrior" will ever be after your case with respect to it - no chance to survive... I do think it is for the best that you remove this post and any other...

The Watercooler -- Impressions, philosophical discussion and general banter. Index on first page. All welcome.

I dare Watercoolers to take blind testing of Trifecta and Trio, as well as other IEMs - it will be surely very revealing. Otherwise 100 times more costly - 100 times more better is a default mantra. I know it won't happen, similar to blind testings of kilobuck cables that will damage the egos...

Acer 2.0 from Kinera, a modular cable. I first got an original Acer, liked their story, package, etc, and opted for Acer 2.0 as well (my most expensive non-silver cable). See below. Looks great! I also got a similar cable from Xinhs (the wire looks identical) with simpler connectors, not...

I agree. Most look for more DD-like sound in BAs. My IEM search in all-BAs was very much string-centric. Faster attack and decay of BAs work better to reproduce strings close to my ears. For the percussion instruments - DDs are more natural. There I am more "unnatural", I still prefer faster...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

A very good question. To me, AS16 pro and then their high impedance version were not that much apart. I have removed the mesh on both Pros original, and liked the sound a bit more for the treble release/balance than that of the high impact that I left with the mesh for comparison. Now comparing...

An intriguing design! I am happy Larry is chugging alone, vividly remember him for TRN X6  From the moment one (AS10/BA10) KZ bass BAs were great to my ears. Original Knowles were a bit leaner (also fine/great); while overdampened Sonions - very much "NO" for my limited...

The preferences (of Crin vs. You and me) are clearly along the lines of acoustic and electronic music recordings. For acoustic music, it is quite hard to physically produce sub-bass and then to record it. So the midbass is the star, the base, the meat. The meat/midbass is needed and crucial...

That sums it up so perfectly eloquent, bravo! Fashion business "experiential metrics"?! Anything else other than positive peer-reinforcement, as per cables (???) And here we are with the reinforcement expected! :) Let me also try a bit: Trifecta is 100 times better than Trio because... it...

Rather than arguing about interpretations and opinions on impressions from interpretations and other mental penetrations, while trying to wean off Head-Fi...), I will offer my humblest of the humblest opinions in The Review of Reviewers. The review is entirely free (though one may inquire about...

No-no, mister sale representative! A very false analogy here, as commonly the case with your writings. Your word "exactly" in this very false analogy just made me to respond! First, the reviewers can be hardly associated with smiling girls. Second, most importantly, those free samples are...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

It does not look to me any special compared to other recent KZ all-BAs like AS16 pro and pro X (?) For the BA generation - hard to guess. At one time, newer were black, but my hypothesis is that that the coating were quite expensive, so newest BAs of KZ seem to be back to unpainted, and then it...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

Specs are great, but the price of $68 (???) is the total shameless moneygrab of Linsoul. Original AS10 were $45, still around at $40 now for their gentle greatness (the very special KZ for me that dragged me into this rabbit hole). Then if one can buy AS16 pro for $35-$40 now - no any sense for...

The 'competitiveness" is surely coming from Rockwell posts mentioning on overtaking Discovery in multiple instances (and I do root for the Discovery, at least since $1000+ cables are hard to rationalize for me being a scientist, so I am happy just to colour match within $30 or so). Finally, I...

Just a casual deep analysis (as per Simpsons) by Rockwell, right? (LOL) P. S. I am the one "guilty" for celebrating 100,000 post here. I like the numbers and observe them with the curiosity (but not "seriously"), as well as the peculiarities of the fashion business (so well said by Rockwell) of...

Free samples "BS" under "No BS" auspices/pretenses that are so hyperbolically false and totally unbelievably blatantly anazing!! C'est des conneries! So "merde" :frowning2: :frowning2: ST7 is no BS (a very decent/competent IEM - and that is coming from a hardly much of a TRN fan).

Liquer/Lacquer tips? The midbass of Merga is quite thin indeed, not my tuning, but then there are more prominent midbass misers, like Hexa, that were praised/hyped. Similar to Hexa, orange tips salvaged Merga to be quite acceptable to my ears. In another note, the synergy of the nicely...

Furthernore, to one of his posts about overtaking Discovery - you gave quite a detailed answer with the projections based on post...

Oh, the Watercooler thread is getting behind the Discovery in the numbers of posts ;) (I know some Watercoolers are very much into the number of posts and into "overtaking" Discovery - with the last month dynamics - not gonna happen :)) On a more constructive note, the amount of...

I am really happy to hear that you liked ZS10 pro 2! It is really nice to hear, made a difference to my day after work, and is one of the great fun of this hobby (I used to enjoy it so much back then in 2019/2020 in KZ's thread where people just shared their positive opinions, and it was fairly...

Just a simple brief opinion, I got ZVX for ca. $6.5, (under $10 Cad), as an add-on to other purchases some time a previous month. ZVX is hefty and very solidly built - not likely to be destroyed by any external factors. Sounds very acceptatble. If ZVX is better than Polaris (?), then Castors...

Intrresting graphs. I would suggest to look at nornalization first. If dB values are correct (and they should be) the non-normalized graph for the red nozle should be higher in magnitude/intensity. Software then likely normalizes all graphs by default to the same intensities at 1 kHz or lower...
