XDuoo XD-05 Portable Dac/Amp Introduction - Impressions
Just adding this for opamp options. I’ve tried probably 10 different opamps in the Xduoo xd-05. Besides the Sparkos Labs SS2590 the only other opamp that wowed me was the Linear Technology LT1364 Opamp, which is pretty inexpensive, like $10. But Beware of fakes though. It was better than the...- hsdrggr

XDuoo XD-05 Portable Dac/Amp Introduction - Impressions
The only way to fry the opamp it to install it 180 degrees out of index in the socket. I fried a Sparkos SS2590 dual in an Xduoo XD-05 that way. Expensive lesson to remind me to take my time and not work on stuff when I’m tired. And yes the SS2590 is a very noticeable upgrade in the Xduoo XD-05...- hsdrggr

XDuoo XD-05 Portable Dac/Amp Introduction - Impressions
The battery should be labeled with voltage. 3.7v maybe. Other than that just fit the biggest mah rated battery that matches the dimensions of the original battery. I believe Xduoo put 4000mah and 5000msh batteries in the Xd-05’s. I just googled and this popped up. Link- hsdrggr

XDuoo XD-05 Portable Dac/Amp Introduction - Impressions
I’d suggest just measuring it and selecting a 4000-5000mah lipo battery that fits from aliexpress. You may have to swap the connector over from the old one.- hsdrggr

XDuoo XD-05 Portable Dac/Amp Introduction - Impressions
The Sparko Labs SS2590 was the only discrete op amp I tried. Recommended by Youtube reviewer Michael Bruce and then I did some web research. I have Burson V5i and V6 opamps, but I didn't try the V6 due to form factor. But from information that I found the Sonic Imagery sounds almost identical to...- hsdrggr

Oracle ll was meh, compared to the Burson V5i and Sparko Lab ss2590. The Sparko is by far the best, but requires cutting case for fit.- hsdrggr

XDuoo XD-05 Portable Dac/Amp Introduction - Impressions
I have the original XD-05 that has the USB-A input and dual op amp only. I've rolled a few opamps over the years but recently the Sparko SS2590 Pro is just plain awsome in this AMP(recommended by Michael Bruce on youtube). I went from the Burson V5i then to the Sparko and there is a world of...- hsdrggr

Reply to review by 'hsdrggr' on item 'Hidizs S9 PRO Red Copper Limited Edition Balanced And Single-Ended Mini HiFi DAC & Amp'
iOS and the Hidizs S9 Pro: The Tidal iOS app will only play at 44.1khz through the Hidizs S9 Pro. So after searching forums for advice to no avail I looked in the apple App store and ran across Amarra Play which showed in-app upgrades to allow Tidal and Qobuz integration and the ability to...- hsdrggr

Verum 1
Yes, a cable as you describe should work fine. The 2.5mm ends can be stereo type or mono type. Either should work. If you can find mono ends I think they might work better in the Verum 1’s. I’ve had a lot of connectivity issues with the 2.5 stereo type tips. Regarding balanced vs. single ended...- hsdrggr

Not sure. I have the Blue App but thought those were just limit adjustments. I’ll get in there and work with the controls. Thanks.- hsdrggr

HiBy W5 --> Now the W3 Bluetooth Receiver is Here with Better Buttons
Also the volume control is too coarse when using with an iPhone. iPhone uses a stepped control instead of smooth and linear. So with the W5 I can’t get my IEMs to the volume I like. Volume levels are either too low or too high on the increment of volume positioning.- hsdrggr

Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP
I have virtually no hiss problems SE or balanced. It seems that the problem is not consistent across all production. I’m using the 90 degree 4.4mm to 2.5mm balanced Cayin adapter. However, the IEMs I use are not in the class of really sensitive low-impedance IEMs. The most sensitive IEM I use...- hsdrggr

Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP
Those IEMs are only 18ohm impedance. The R6 Pro can drive pretty much anything. It won’t even break a sweat with those. Probably even with SE on low gain I doubt you will need over 75% to make your ears bleed with those IEMs.- hsdrggr

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
The ZS10 Pro is so good that I just ordered 3 more sets from Linsoul while they are still $40. I’m not getting into writing a huge review because I just don’t do that. I probably have 20 sets of IEMs and 11 pairs of cans. Also I refuse to spend over $200 for an IEM, unless someone gives me a set...- hsdrggr

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!
Same here. Using the newly released KZ ZS10 Pro with mic right now and it sounds great. Mic control does nothing though. BTW if anyone wants a great sounding budget iem KZ has knocked it out if the park with the ZS10 Pro. Just incredible sound. So similar to the Moondrop Kanas Pro it’s almost...- hsdrggr

Verum 1
I don’t think reverb comes into play. And doesn’t seem to change clarity, going balanced definitely cleans them up. To me these cans really change once running balanced. Removing grill and/or pads mainly let’s ambient sound in and less music out; I know that’s sounds basic, buts that’s how it...- hsdrggr

Verum 1
I have done quite a bit of listening to the Verum 1's both SE and balanced. On a Hiby R6 Pro and a Burson Fun Amp with the V6 Classic op amp. Also experimented with removing dampening layers, grills and pad rolling. First of all they sound much better from a balanced output; clearer, better...- hsdrggr

Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP
I’m using Moondrop Kanas Pro IEMs with **** 6 core pure copper 2.5mm balanced cable into the Cayin 4.4 angled pentagon adapter and no hiss whatsoever. The sound is phenomenal. I also have used BGVP DM6 IEMs with a NICEHCK MMCX to 2.5mm balanced 8 core pure copper cable into the Cayin 4.4mm...- hsdrggr

I. Actually I do this quite a bit with my ES 100 and Velcro it to the earcup. There are a couple 3.5 mm cables I use. One is a short jumper that came with FiiO amps. FiiO L8 or L17. it looks like Amazon sells one almost like it. 10cm long. $8 Short 3.5mm Right Angle Cable, Gold Plated 90...- hsdrggr

Shane, The Burson Fun works well. I wasn't real impressed with it initially when listening with the HE4XX headphones, However, the new Verum One Planars sound really good on it.
