All righy than. I finished all 182 pages and my conclusion is this: Till i'll save for the Opera, i'll just have to try this cheap or should i say "inexpensive" sollution. Hopefully i'll get a flawless functioning unit Thanks for the thread! P.S - Thanks BadaBing and Penchum.

I strech k701 around the stand it comes with to lossen the pressure on the ears, and for the headband i keep it streched with an elastic strapped to the upper "bars". I'm curios if it will lossen up.

Isint there anything one man can do to loosen up a bit that headband? I love the sound but after a while a cant concentrate because of the pain... Those engineers ar AKG must have really small heads....

Skylab in your opinion , how much of the Opera offers Arietta? 70%, 80%?

No.. it is sold I sold it because i found it mediocre as source and amp to drive the HD580. I really wasnt optimistic about k701 and iaudio. I mean i'm very picky, i didnt like HD580 and K501 with creek OBH 21 SE and sold them all. I trully dont know how a tiny DAP manages to produce...

I bought also K701 and with just the tiny iaudio7 it produces a beuatifull sound. Even though i'm sure that it could benefit immensly from serios source and amp, still K701 straight out of the iaudio sounds more beautifull to me than any of the phones you see in my sig. Enjoy

Ok, so today i received my K701. My experience consists in listening to to the following headphones: K501, HD580, SR-325i, SR-80, MS-1, SR-60 on creek obh 21 SE + a decent DAC. So after the backround check i must tell you that to my ears K701+iaudio7 is the most beutifull sounding rig i have...

Another set of cans entered in the competition, Audio-Tehnica ES7. Now is begining to be tough. So on one hand i have 2x100$ cans (ES7, RP-21) and on the other 2X150$ cans (K271S and DT250). Could anyone shine some light in here?

IEM's are out of the question. Dont like them in my ears. Equation RP-21 looks interesting Animal Mother. 10x for the tip. Time to dig in the forum about them

Considering what other have said that D2 is similar SQ wise with iaudio, indulge me to make some assesements on this thread. I bought both iaudio and sony A816 to see which will fit best for me. Unfortunatly i seem to have a picky ear and i cant say that i'm satisfied with neither off them...

I owned SR-60/SR-80/SR-325i and MS-1 and let me tell you that there are big differences between them. SR-80 alone sounds different than SR-60. The difference between SR-325i and the others is huge. The MS-1 has a totally different sonic signature and i could swear they aren't made by the same...

Wel, after couple days of intensive listening i decided upon my rig. The contendents were: iaudio7, sony A816, Sr-60 and MS-1. The winner is......: Iaudio7 + SR-60. Now let me explain a bit: First time a listened to iaudio i was dissapointed , but i thought i give it further chance...

My MS-1 arrived. In the first 5 seconds literally i could see its more neutral character than the sr-60, definetly noticed soundstage, but also seems a bit more unforgiving with the recordings. Cant wait for it to burn in couple of hours....

Finally , sony a816 and iaudio7 arrived Impressions at first glance: 1) Sony - very very stylish design. 2) iaudio - sweeter looking than on pictures, and very very unexpectedly small. Now let the comparative listening sessions begin: aforementioned and sr-60/MS-1. I'll be back....
