    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Interesting. Well the problem is that getting info from Antelope about their components is like squeezing blood from a stone. 11 days ago i asked them what the model/brand of DAC is getting used for their headphone amp and this was their reply: "Unfortunately, after consulting with the RnD...

Not true. I emailed them this question 6 days ago and this was their reply:

$500 now, on sale on the Hifiman site  I had a similar experience going from my Audient id14 mk1 to the Antelope D4SC. Compared them side by side and the Antelope felt pristine clean compared to the Audient. Random thought. It occured to me that it's possible that part (or all?) of...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

It worked. 👍 Received the L30 ii amp + cable, and my headphones sound way better now. Can conclude now that they were not getting enough juice through the Antelope interface, and it was indeed hampering the sound. I compared both amps side by side (same DAC, same headphones), level-matched...

Ah right. Well that's good to know. Thanks Now to find out whether Line Out 1 is a left channel or a stereo channel summed to mono. I'll contact Antelope support. Cheers

Haha yes i know i know, I use that button every day. Where i'm confused though, is that, isn't each LineOut channel a mono signal that's summed from stereo? So how would the amp know to interpret that as left and right? It would have to be a cable that goes from 1x TRS male to 2x RCA right?

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Oh! I didn't know the Line Out ports could do that! So line out is just another monitoring signal? What does Line Out typically get used for? Edit: So i see there is Line Out 1+2+3+4, whereas the Monitor out is L+R. So would i use just Line Out 1, and then send it through a cable that splits...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

That's very clear, thank you. What about this though: I'd like to keep the cable that i already own that's currently going from the interface to the monitors (it's a TRS>XLR cable). The reason i want to keep it is because it's quite long, and i'll be able to save money getting a short...

One more question. The 1/4" monitor outputs in the back of my interface are balanced TRS outputs. But RCA is unbalanced only right? Does that mean i'd be losing quality if go from a TRS output into an RCA input? In other words, is it a bad idea to run my monitors/speakers through the amp if it...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Hey Martel (or anyone else), forgive the nooby question, but I'm about to buy the L30ii amp (with no DAC, will use my Antelope interface DAC), and just wanna make sure I'm getting the right cables/adapters So just to confirm: -My interface has 1/4" monitor outputs (see attached pic). That's...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

I get your point, and i feel the same way, but the L30 ii has 3.5w x2 @16ohm, which is more than enough to power any of the "end game" Hifiman planars i would've thought. Right? It also has the cleanest signal measured on ASR yet and it's also one of the least expensive HP amps out there. Given...

What are some dacs under $300 that match really well with Hifiman Ananda Nano headphones?

50% off the Zen, that's got my attention. So what's the difference between the Zen above that's 50% off, and the other Zen on their website that's $539? https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/ifi-audio-zen-can-signature-limited-editiojn-headphone-amplifier Both the same name except one has...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Gotcha. Ok so now that that's out the way, going back to our previous conversation... Why do you insist on saving up more money for the A70 over the A30? Just out of curiosity. A30 is more than enough power for the Hifiman planars right? In fact the A30 itself is probably overkill, from what I...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Sorry, i'm tired, i forgot to specify what i was talking about. Let me rephrase... Speaking of which, do you know if the DA conversion to the speakers of the monitor/XLR output within a typical interface (i.e. my Antelope) generally uses the same DAC as the headphone output? Or are they usually...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

I found a good deal on the 2nd-hand market for a Topping L70 and a Topping DX5. What do you think of them? RME ADI-2 is well out of my reach, and i'm content enough with my Antelope interface as far as DA conversion to my speakers, so the RME wouldn't be the most optimal use of money right now...

What are some dacs under $300 that match really well with Hifiman Ananda Nano headphones?

Thanks. I probably wouldn't use the xbass and xspace features tbh, I'm an audio engineer, need purity/reference style signal Also looking at the Topping L70 and Topping DX5 Lite atm (used). But not sure whether buying them would be a lateral move or not. How do I compare them against my...

Antelope Audio interface - How to interpret the HP amp specs?

I have the Ananda Stealth, not the Arya Stealth. How much wattage do they need? What do you mean by "which outputs do you have available for an amplifier?" Are we talking about in the interface. Well there's definitely XLR outputs, which is what my speakers are currently using. There's...

What are some dacs under $300 that match really well with Hifiman Ananda Nano headphones?

My speakers do have balanced inputs (APS Klasik 2020), but does this Zen amp have balanced outputs? It looks like it only has one 1/4" output, how does that work? I found a good used deal for this amp for $200 AUD. But I'm not sure how I would run my speakers through it? I have an interface...

Antelope Audio interface - How to interpret the HP amp specs?

Hi all, I have an Antelope Audio Discrete 4 Synergy Core (non-Pro version) audio interface that i use for recording and mixing/mastering. I bought it 3 years ago for $1,300 AUD and by all accounts the AD/DA converters inside of it are really good for its price (which is why i bought it. They...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Interesting. Is there any disadvantages to this method? (like maybe having too much in the chain affecting signal purity?) The problem i see with it is that then my headphones would be connected to the same source as my monitors (my interface), and ideally i'd like to set-and-forget a...

What are some dacs under $300 that match really well with Hifiman Ananda Nano headphones?

It's an interesting idea that someone in another thread suggested too. The only problem with it is that then my headphones would be connected to the same source as my monitors (my interface), and ideally i'd like to set-and-forget a systemwide EQ for my headphones without it affecting my...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Oh interesting. So, just so i understand... the speaker cables go from the output of my Antelope interface into the input of the A30, then another set of speaker cables go from the output of the A30 into the speakers? And whether you have the A30 turned on or off determines whether speakers or...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Nice. Seems perfect as far as being a clean/powerful headphone amp. Only problem is i'd be paying for features i don't need, like the preamp and the speaker outs. Does the A30 have a DAC in it?

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Looks great but i need at least 1 mic/guitar input, and it's probably too expensive for me anyway, for now. Still on the hunt for a good headphone DAC-amp to match with the Nano...

    Introducing HIFIMAN Ananda Nano

Oh hi Martel! The reason why i want the EQ onboard the DAC/amp is because i fear i'll forget to turn the EQ off when switching to using my monitors instead of headphones, lol. It would be nice if the EQ profile was "stuck" to the headphones only, if that makes sense. The Nano's have a low...
