Audigy 2 or M-Audio Revolution?
"You'd need one hell of a great receiver to have it's DACs beat the Revo. Hate to sound like a broken record but the Revo replaced a Music Hall CD25 in my system and I love it." Solude, you have any specific reciever in mind? What would beat the Revo? Thanks.- C4 Suke

Audigy 2 or M-Audio Revolution?
I'm leaning more towards the revolution, but I am thinking of adding a reciever in the future and using as a home theater system, so would it matter which one I got? Would the spdif out produce different quality in each sound card, or would it result in the same sound? Thanks! Suke- C4 Suke

Audigy 2 or M-Audio Revolution?
Which do you recommend? The Audigy 2 is THX certified, if that really means anything, could be that m-audio never paid for certification, while M-Audio has 7.1, but its not even 7.1 dolby digital, I think its just 2 extra speakers. Other difference I noticed was 106 dB for the Audigy 2...- C4 Suke

Merging home theater and computers; where is the benefit?
I think HTPC is the best way to go for a home theater, especially if you have a kick ass video card w/ dvi and an awesome sound card. Imagine it, playing doom3 or your favorite game on a big screen!- C4 Suke

Comments on Extigy? Measurements?
Extigy, is that the USB sound card ? I think my brother has it. He likes it because of remote control and external audio control and it has digital out, which he uses for listening to movies in surround sound when he hooks it up to a reciever or 5.1 speakers. He likes the sound, but then again...- C4 Suke

Dolby Digital vs DTS
I heard DTS was good but I never actually experienced it for myself...yet. I have a question about DTS though, a little off topic, but is it only offered in 5.1? I heard DD was going to do more than 5.1, like 7.1 maybe even 9.1? Is DTS working on this also?- C4 Suke

STUPID QUESTION OF THE DAY
That wasn't stupid, but this may be, I'm not an expert or anything, but what if you were to split the headphone out with a y-cable and then use another y-cable w/ male connectors to hook up to the first y-cable and hook up the remaining end up w/ your headphones. Now that I think about it...- C4 Suke

Twice-a-Year Super-Isolating Phones
Whenever I go on flights, I use my sony CD180s. Listening to them right now with my brother in the next room with the tv on, I can hear the tv, but faintly in the background. In flight, I did hear the plane engines, but with my ear plugs on, and the cd180s on over them, all I heard was my...- C4 Suke

Reciever = better sound?
True if I had the money I would buy better headphones, but for now I just asked because I had the opportunity to borrow it and was wondering if it would do anything really. But the SC does seem popular, maybe its jack is already good enough. Suke- C4 Suke

Reciever = better sound?
Hi, if I was to connect my computer to a Pioneer reciever via s/pdif, and connect my headphones to the reciever, would it in anyway make the sound better, like through amplification from the reciever or something? I am going to try to borrow my friends reciever for a day or two if it will make...- C4 Suke

turtle beach santa cruz users...
Yea it does sound a little weird, it also lowers volume so you can't hear things you normally would. Does anyone have any idea what settings to put the Maximum Hardware Notes and Maximum Software Notes on? They under the SYNTH tab, under voices. I just put them to the max value thinking more...- C4 Suke

Dolby Headphone
Hello, with all this dolby headphone talk recently, I started getting curious about a few things. Is the Dolby Headphone used in PowerDVD and WinDVD the same as the one used in Pioneer Dolby Processor, or does one sound better than the other? Is any special sound card needed to notice a...- C4 Suke
