How do you do that, and do you avoid smoke? Noah If we don't want to clutter the thread you can pm me edit: Knowing absolutely nothing about this, I will add this link: https://www.sweetmarias.com/poppo-air-popcorn-kit.html

He (and it is only 'he') makes them in batches of about 5 at a time, and then goes on to make a batch of something else. So Nitsche Sound is not a high volume producer. I'm not known for my patience, but I like to support small, quality dedicated efforts like this. After all, he does bring us...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Agreed for e.g. Auteurs. Haven't heard the Atrium. And system synergy matters 'much'. My comment was for a. in general and b. somewhat less expensive 'phones than the Atrium But also, I encourage people to not hesitate to use a bit of EQ, especially in the audio domain. Enjoy the music...

Yes, in my experience, another trait of the dynamic high impedance ‘phones is a rolled off bass. All my set-ups include some form of EQ, typically with Loki or Lokius, and my comments reflect a mild bass boost. Also I typically listen at low db, so more bass boost, e.g 4 db. YMMV of...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Zero-th: disclaimer: I have a furtwangr hiding in the wings. For this and other reasons I am predisposed to (dynamic) high impedance (at least 200 ohms) headphones. Not exclusive, but predisposed. (A generality: Planars are ‘faster'--stronger attacks-- but dynamics have other advantages in my...

l As the other responses suggest, it depends on your other equipment, what sound you like (lush/lean) etc. but my answer: Listen to the Valhalla first, you will like it. If you listen to Valhalla AFTER Lyr +, you will likely be disappointed with Valhalla. Not that it doesn't have it's special...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Hmm, interesting, as this is the way I burn in all new electronics that will feed headphones. On some new stuff (e.g. Yggy MiB) I leave it hooked up and running for even a week, 24/7. But I use a cheap pair of headphones. Noah

re Yggy MIB, Vali 2, Sennheisser HD 650...this is going to be a weird combination. About MIB: patience. Repeat: patience! From Yggy A2 I know it takes a while--as in 2 weeks-- for this to burn in. So when MIB arrives, I stuff it in a corner, get a hp amp and headphones out of the...

re: mj3, urd, or Yggy GS? a) urd doesn’t serve for me because I want my transport to output DVD (for opera, ballet), though I understand well why Schiit doesn’t want to go there. b) for Yggy I want MIB or maybe LIM (though I think gumby is close to LIM)...

Ah that's a good suggestion Artur. Congestion makes sense in this context, and I take it English is not the first language of the orginal poster. In any case, I think we are making a bit too much of that post. Different folks with different equipment hear different things. Noah

I don't use my Senn600 or 650 outdoors, so I don't know about that aspect and the temperatures. For indoor use I highly recommend dakoni fenestrated pads ( cost about $70). To my ears they make already good 'phones sound much better. I forget where I read the original recommendation (Tyll?)...
