Tired of your gear? Why? What happened?

It is not about "no longer" it is about "never has been". The veil of self deceit has fallen.

Should I upgrade my Sennheiser HD515 to HD558?

Can you actually mod HD 515 (not 558) or do they have initially inferior driver units?

Help between the HD800 and HD800S

800S is way much more valuable. Could be sold higher if you decide to abandon them. New 800S cost $1460 in Russia. 800 cost $940.

Q: Is it possible to get really good quality noise cancelling over ears?

Any closed back with soft pleather pads and sufficient clamp will do.

Could've spilled water onto another cup just for the purpose of symmetry.

Any opinions on Pioneer SE-MS5T headphones?

I meant difficult to position direction of sounds in games. Soundstage if you will. Spike means resonant peak. A part of frequency range that may be good to reduce with equalizer to make balance more or less acceptable. They aren't comfortable In my opinion there is no such thing as too much...

Any opinions on Pioneer SE-MS5T headphones?

Try SHL3175 as they are bass cannons with decent highs. Cons are poor imaging and 2000hz spike.

4 year old sennheiser ie 800

First of all too many conflicted opinions about them. Second - you can't use aftermarket pads cause they are of proprietary design. Third - for 200 euros you got plenty of options. Fourth - you may get new pair for 400 euros if you know where to search.

Why my Smartphone sounds better than a DAP?

    1. Got multidriver IEMs? Prepare for unexpected results 2. DAPs intended for high ohmage may suck at driving IEMs 3. DSP in phone's audio chain

sennheiser momentum vs sennheiser hd 25-1 II

Gym pumping is done better with something wireless and darker in sound signature if you ask me. We talk aesthetic aural pleasure here.

sennheiser momentum vs sennheiser hd 25-1 II

Bass is mostly into subbass with lack of impact and highs are too shouty. Overall they are meant to be studio - not for enjoyment. HD 2.10 are much more fun and less cost with exactly rock music in mind. Moreover HD 25 are old and outdated.

    Headphone suggestions? Help I'm stressed.

I am a jackass that may have some advice. And if your Beats Solo that you liked was the very first ugly edition, I guess no advice will cover that state of affairs )) Beats used to be a meme of bad sound around audio enthusiasts. Don't struggle and don't stick to expensive devices hoping to find...

sennheiser momentum vs sennheiser hd 25-1 II

I highly recommend HD 2.10 over HD 25. HD 25 sounds too boring.

    Headphone suggestions? Help I'm stressed.

Dude, I'm afraid you are an amateur basshead. I used to be one 10 years ago. Time to evolve.

Anyone have the new Sennheiser HD 2 series headphones?

Update. Bought HD 2.10 and they are AWESOME! Worth every penny (mine cost me $25). Brilliant macrodynamics, abundant highs yet not fatiguing, multigenre affinity. I see completely no weak spots other than being on-ear. 5 stars out of 5.

Keepers that you will... never let go

Philips SHL4500 for being very realistic and detailed as if you wear no headphones at all. Semi-open design and perforated pads. Got spare ones just in case. Sennheiser HD439 for comfort both physical and audio. Got HD451 to back them up. Panasonic RP-HT460 no top tier but make good work of all...

    AKG K551 dissapointment/blown?

Had the same issue on Samson SR950. Their pads were too solid and too little space inside so that asymmetry of my skull made left channel sound louder. Naaasty feeling.

    Help bass headphones

Philips SHL 3175 Pros: Very high sens, bass retains considerable pressure down to 24hz. Not the fastest bass but strong. Cheap. Decent upper treble. Cons: Mostly on-ear while declared over-ear by manufacturer. Screamy and resonant in upper midrange and rather fatiguing. Bad spacial imaging...

Any opinions on Pioneer SE-MS5T headphones?

Walls require darker signature for being unoffensive and lots of mid-upper bass with tight control for being more or less informative. Poor mixes are aimed directly at sounding distinct through lo-fi equipment. You don't want to look at the Sun through a magnifying glass.

Any opinions on Pioneer SE-MS5T headphones?

I'd say they are more into brightness than neutrality with a lack of upper bass and a tint of sibilance. But that's what you pay with for that kind of definition they provide. As for ATH M40x, they didn't impress me much at least with a portable source.

    Sennheiser HD4.50 vs Sony WH-CH700N

Heard Sennheiser HD4.20s and heard MDR-ZX770AP. Sony was better by a huge lot considering sound. Moreover HD4.20s was too big for my head at its minimal adjustment.
