Thanks for response, I've tried already, but without success ... maybe I was too gently with new pair - going to proceed with "second strike". But seems that metal of Carbon's headband just not the same strengthness, as my two years old Hawks ...

  I would add that nevetheless of voltage specs, loudness level looks like this: DF 1.0 ~= DF 1.2 = DF Red < DF Black. DF Black smashes my NighHawks at 2-3 points of macOS sound level, while other DFs need 6-8 for it.

I received 2 years warranty from a dealer. I don't think NH is a headphone which You will use outdoor, for home usage construction is quite solid, while giving You relaxed listening and comfort. You may try search forum for construction issues users faced, but not sure You will find something.

If You don't need a closed cans, I'm 100% You have to go with NightHawks! It's much more comfortable and open sounding compare to Oppo PM-3. Both headphones are warm, maybe PM-3 has a tad tighter bass response, but with new configurable AudioQuest pads You could play with NH sound signature...

That's reasonable, but in my case I use DragonFly DACs with JitterBug plugged to the Mac book USB, haven't try it with mobile. At this moment I'm owing DragonFly Red, Black and old 1.2 version. After switching from Red to 1.2 or Black version, it appears that NH start sounding a bit more tighter...

The problem is the iTunes the only EQ I "own", and while playing with EQ setting I can't reach anything other, except of sound distortion, followed by disappointment. I suppose I have to try some more enhanced soft.
