Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 (MTW2)

I've purchased and installed the Sennheiser Comply foam tips. They do make a considerable difference. The sound of the armature rattling is gone for the most part. The sound of the Momentum II's compared to the Westone R4 is actually better. Although the deep bass is not there, the midrange...

Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 (MTW2)

I bought the Momentum True Wireless 2’s to stream Tidal as I walk my dog. I do 2-6 miles a day. The most annoying problem I have with these IEM’s is a weird cricket chirping when I walk. It’s related to vibration from my heels to my ear. If they’re extremely snug I hear no weird chirping but...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

These United 596 Rectifiers are my favourite Rectifiers for my Woo WA5-LE. I have multiple pairs as back ups. I prefer them to EML 5U4G's and the EML's are great tubes.

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

This is dealt with in other posts. However my take on the WA-6, original version was not positive. The amp, even with tubes that cost more than the amp had frequency range and detail limitations. I would go with the WA6SE original version over the WA6. The benefits of a separate power supply...

I have the Woo ones and yes expensive but nice. Functionally no different from cheap EBay adapter.

I bought the stand after measuring the Woo WA5-LE and searching for a week to find something that would accommodate the Amp. It's Modular so you can grow or shrink it as your needs change. The Stand is a: SONORA S44-A4 40-INCH S44 SERIES MODULAR GLASS AUDIO STAND

I’ve finally been able to get my dedicated audio room back. My wife decided that my gear was not the decor statement she wanted. I’ve gone from headphones only to 2 channel plus phones. This is still a work in progress. Mainly PS Audio gear BHK 300 Mono’s, Directstream DAC, Perfectwave...

    Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite

It's hard to find Woo Amps to audition. My experience with the WA6 was underwhelming. So much so, that I didn't know if I wanted to stay with Woo. The sweet spot price wise was the WA5-LE. Based on faith and a host of reviews, I went all in. I have no regrets. Tube rolling can keep you up...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

The tubes that I use are Tung Sol 6F8G's with an adapter. They have the identical structure to 6SN7 Round Plates for less than half the price. They have been in my system for a year and I just have no desire to change them out. There are 6SN7 threads here that review the various tubes with...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Woo can give you a list of compatible tubes. Your first problem is 13DE7's the first numbers designate the voltage so 13 volts. With a 6SN7 you have 6 volts. They are incompatible with out modifications. This is one reason why the earlier WA6's were popular. They had a greater range of...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

The good thing about WA6's is the range of tubes that you can use, with and without adapters. Quality tubes like 6SN7's are plentiful and provide immediate sonic benefits. The rectifier will affect the sound but to a lesser extent. It would be easy to exceed the value of the amp in tubes, so...

The balloon 300B is a visual variation. The internals are usually the same as a corresponding 300B from the same manufacturer. I have EML 520B V3 (Incredible Sound and Power and a huge tube 8.5 inches from base to top ), EML 300B-XLS (Very Similar to the 520B V3 In sound), EML 300B Mesh (My...

    Woo's New Flagship WA33

Cleaning up your power and inoculating your system against stray EMI and RFI will probably not fix this problem if it is related to a hardware issue. Try a different outlet in another room that isn't on the same circuit. My feeling here is that it's hardware. Now on the flip side I have had...

    Woo's New Flagship WA33

I run my WA5-LE and Ancillary equipment through a PS Audio P5 for virtually silent results. PS Audio is unique in that it doesn’t clean power it regenerates it. I also use very high end cables for the rejection of RFI and EMI for a black background.

I'll concur with WA5-LE V2 being a match in heaven with Focal, specifically Utopias. I like the combo so much that I sold my V281 as it wasn't getting any use. The WA5 LE V2 has the Hi/low impedance adjustment along with Hi/low output and Hi/low power. This allows the amp to be tailored to...

    Focal Utopia General Discussion

The way Utopia's seem to be tuned is to roll off bass. They are certainly capable of delivering it. It's very passage and system dependant. I do a modest EQ bump in Roon for some of the frequencies I want to hear.

    Mytek Brooklyn Thread

I no longer have a Brooklyn but when I did I borrowed one of the HDPlex Linear Power Supplies. I had a hard time discerning any changes. The outboard, linear power supply won't hurt. But it may not make a dramatic change. If you do go the HDPlex route you can use the myriad of connectors in...

    Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite

Although I don't own KR 274B's I do own some KR variants of 300b's. I also own EML's. I like the KR sound marginally better than EML and definitely better than Sophia's. I sold off all of my Sophia's as I preferred the Czech tubes to my ears. On another note. 274b's are rectifiers. They do...

    WA6 Tube Rolling

Just be aware 6DE7 is 6 volt 13DE7 is 13 volt not a drop in tube replacement the tube will incinerate very quickly

    WA6 Tube Rolling

The 13DE7 is not a commonly used tube and it's 13 volts. The voltage makes it difficult to roll non 13 volt tubes without some modifications. https://www.radiomuseum.org/tubes/tube_13de7.html The good news is that they are cheap on that popular auction site.

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

My choice of rectifiers is EML 5U4G or United 596. I had 3 Langrex/Brimar 5Z4G's and two failed in short order. I've moved away from that tube as unreliable. There are many choices that I posted on the WOO owners thread that come from WOO directly.

    Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite

The flashing blue light is correct. The buzz is not. I had bad tubes that were OEM from WOO on a WA6 also. One of the tubes was gassy or shorting. They should have never been sent with the amp as testing easily identified the problem. I would go with a different rectifier. The amp uses easy...
