I can confirm the Tri i3 and Hiby R5's synergy is perfect on 4.4mm balanced. I have also the fiio M11 dap and prefer the i3 on the R5. R5 has a lot more driving power on balanced and the i3 really shines to my ears. - That bass slam and authority sounded really good (not basshead level). Well...

Hope my R3 pro (non saber) can be updated soon. It's frustrating that I've tried almost everything but no success updating to latest 1.4 firmware. Tried using 3 different micro sd cards for manual update and OTA but still unsuccessful. The 1.3 firmware BT stutter is really annoying.

I've done this as well and my listening session becomes more satisfying (Hiby R3 pro on balanced and standard small spiral dot). I'm not gonna consider this as an upgrade since unmodded H40 is already great IMO. Just suits my preference I must say. Now my H40 has less bass boominess but...
