Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

I used the Cayin + Fiio mix to drive my DT 770s, which was a really good set up. The Fiio could just about drive the 770s (better, in terms of power, than the LGv30), but the Cayin added something special. The 770s have great low bass, but the mid-bass drops off a bit - indeed, much drops off...

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

Well here it is! I knew it would add bass, and it sure does. Interestingly, with the stock pads, extra bass via the Cayin C5 overwhelmed the 1770s. But these pads manage to contain it, which is fascinating. My surprise is that the mids sound more natural with the Dekoni sheepskin pads. The highs...

    Music Apps, Tips and Tricks for the LG V30, V35, V40, V50 & V60

And what about this 64 bit processing? Turn it on or not? I'm clueless!

    Music Apps, Tips and Tricks for the LG V30, V35, V40, V50 & V60

Hey all, in Neutron, should "dither" be applied? I have no idea what it does or if it is good for my music files (which include a range of types, some high res)

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

Thanks, I've ordered the Dekoni sheepskin. I plan to use the 1770s on the go, so isolation is important for me, too.

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

@RockStar2005 - I quite like the higher treble emphasis on the 770s and wondered if you would recommend either the Hybrid or Sheepskin to generate that effect? (though not too much!)

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

Be interested to hear if people have experience of the Dekoni hybrids AND sheepskin pads for the 1770s. Planing to pull the trigger on one, but not both, sets. I think it was @RockStar2005 who preferred the sheepskin, while Joshua Valour (Youtube video creator) spoke highly of the hybrid. Any...

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

The sound presets are Normal, Enhanced, Detailed, Live and Bass Digital filters are Short (produces a more spatial and ambient sound), sharp (produces a more natural sound) and slow (produces a clearer sound)

    LG V30

They are harder to drive, yes. Difficult to measure, but I'd say that what needs full 75 volume with the 770s would need 65 on the 1990s. That perhaps gives a rough idea?

    LG V30

I'm pretty new to Android - I'm not even sure how I would have done that! Any suggestions?

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

Forgot this bit: when I plug in my 770s I use the Hi-Fi Status app to tell me what is happening - it shows 50Ohm. Is that what you mean?

    LG V30

Does anyone know why adverts occasionally pop up after unlocking the phone? Is that due to one of the apps? How to turn them off?

    LG V30

By the way, I received the LGv30 for free as an upgrade phone, which avoided the potential mess of Ebay. I'm only paying a pound a month more, plus I get 15GB data instead of the 1GB my old phone was on! Very happy with the LGv30 - it provides a sharper, crisper, cleaner sound that my Fiio...

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

This was super helpful, thanks. I purchased the 1770s! I experimented yesterday with the 1990s in town, just to make sure they would be loud enough, in comparison with the 770s, and they were. The phone provided more than enough juice, even for high dynamic range quieter tracks. I am sorely...

    LG V30

I presume so - the slot can go up to 2 TB(!). I have the following in my Lgv30 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073JY5T7T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (i..e, the SanDisk 200GB 100MB/s)

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

Really helpful discussion. I have the LGv30 now, which I'm enjoying, but for on the go it doesn't offer quite enough power for my DT770s (250Ohm). My DT 1990s, however, are plenty loud enough due to the 102 decibel-per-miliwatt sensitivity, contrasted with the lower rate in the 770s. Given this...

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

Thanks, thats helpful to know. I'm close to buying the 1770s for on-the-go use (I've enjoyed the 1990s for years - love them) and needed to know if they would also be as easy to drive as my LGv30 doesn't quite drive the 770s well enough, but it has plenty of juice for the 1990s.

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

I've noticed that the 250 Ohm DT 1990s are easier to drive than the 250 Ohm DT 770s. Is that because of the tesla drivers?

    LG V20 Sound Quality

Bit late on this one, but was thinking of using a LG v20 with my DT770s for on the go use. Are you suggesting that they cannot power them enough for certain tracks? - I have a few pretty quiet classical music files, you see, that I'd love to have enough whack.

Incredible review, thanks so much. Had a question, as I'm a bit confused by the distinction between S-Balanced and Balanced in the bit about the XCan's Output Power: will these be enough to drive my DT 770s on the go (from either a Fiio X3II source or Bluetooth iPhone)? My Cayin C5 amp manages...

What a great review! When you say it compliments to Mojo, do you mean down the line, i.e. as a final stage between the Mojo and headphones? Again, loved your review, thanks. V tempted by this!

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

I'm sure somebody has already said this, but I found that the DAC was crucial. Via my PC, the headphones could sound harsh, but that was because of the way my crappy PC DAC managed the digital data. Through my Chord Mojo there is no harshness whatsoever. So I would suggest your issues has to do...
