XM5 - AD8065 or LME49710?
I suppose I should have been a little more specific in my question. If you can tell the difference in a blind test between the AD8065 and the LME49710 in an XM5, what are those differences (comparing such things as sound stage, bass, treble, smoothness, bright, dark, etc)?- TedGamble

XM5 - AD8065 or LME49710?
Ignoring the price difference in these two options, in a blind test, can you tell the difference between an XM5 with AD8065 and an XM5 with LME49710 op amps installed? If so, what would the difference(s) be?- TedGamble

Practical Devices XM5
To those who have upgraded to AD8065 and BUF634... I have read the many posts about how smooth and improved this combo is. I'm using Atrio M5's. Can I install only the AD8065 and get smoothness, or are the BUF634's need to complete the upgrade? If anyone has installed only the...- TedGamble

Best Basshead IEM
FS M5's FTW. Just plain fun. You can tweak the sound to your liking simply by changing the tips. My current favorite is Shure Olives put on backwards, but I also like the grey ETY foamies a lot too.- TedGamble

Feedback with Headroom Total Bithead
I had a Total Bithead for about a week. I experienced noise in one USB port on my computer but not on others. It had nothing to do with the Bithead being close to the computer, but more with the cable used. I got a better cable and the noise went away. Realize that it is possible for one USB...- TedGamble

e500 Tips Coming Off in Ear
I just had a Doment (Doh moment). After closer reading, I realized that the Comply P is not the correct tip for the e500's. I should have gotten the T100's.- TedGamble

e500 Tips Coming Off in Ear
Does anyone know of anything that I can put on the tubes to make them just a little "tacky" (but not as permanent as glue) to help hold on the Comply tips? Even the brand new, never used ones come off in my ears. These are the "P" model, which (I think) is supposed to fit the e500's.- TedGamble

e500 Tips Coming Off in Ear
Quote: Try the black or yellow foams sleeves. They generally have a more tighter grip on the nozzle. I prefer the sound of the grey silicons and the tri-flanges. Much better bass. Quote: Also try purchasing a new pair of comply's or silicon tips. Maybe your current pair lost...- TedGamble

e500 Tips Coming Off in Ear
The Comply's come off in my ears. One of the grey Shure silicon tips came off in my ear one day also. I've tried cleaning the stems to make sure that they're not greasy from my fingers. What can I do?- TedGamble

Ipod LOD - ALO Cryo or Moon Blue Dragon
For the record, I said that my files RANGE FROM 128 TO 192. About 75% of them are 192. I realize that a 128 MP3 is a long way from perfect, and I also realize that I'm not getting every nuance of sq from a 192 kb file either. Right or wrong, better equipment provides better sound. I'm... -

Ipod LOD - ALO Cryo or Moon Blue Dragon
I previously owned an ALO Cryo iPod LOD and was quite pleased with it. I'm considering getting Moon's Blue Dragon LOD. Any thoughts on which is better and why? My files are all 128 to 192kbs MP3's.- TedGamble

IEM in $100-200 range: considering IE7 or UM1, others?
I had a pair of UM1's and immediately returned them because they are severely lacking bass. Super.fi 5's and SA 6's seem to get great reviews for the price range you mentioned.- TedGamble

UM1 - Lacking bass
Since Earphone Solutions has a 30-day return policy on all Westones, they're going back. I've been very fortunate to find a fellow Head-Fier who sold me a pair of Shure e500's. Can't wait to get those hooked up to the Predator.- TedGamble

UM1 - Lacking bass
I received my Shure Olives. bik2101 was right - the UM1's still lack bass. There has been one very positive side however. When I ordered the Shure Olives, I also orders some Comply tips to try on my CX-300's. The Complys made a world of difference in livening them up. The bass is no longer...- TedGamble
