The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote
It's an older product now that's out of support. It also was kind of cheaply made and broke on a lot of people. I'm sure some people still have functional players that they use, but even those people are likely using the microSD cards they bought for it originally, before 256gb cards came out...- CharmCityCrab

FiiO X1 Broken
Hey, My FiiO X1 no longer shows any music in genres, artists, albums, etc.. The only place it shows music is through looking in individual folders, including my folder of playlists. Here are some of the steps I've taken to troubleshoot (None have fixed it), most have been tried a bunch...- CharmCityCrab

Interestingly, it picked up on exactly the same track in the same position I left off on prior to the hard reset. I'm not complaining, thats the desired behavior I set it to do earlier in the thread. :) I'm just surprised that the "bookmark" survived a hard reset. Bonus that it did. :)- CharmCityCrab

Perfect. Worked like a charm. Device now fully functional again. Thanks. Just for the sake of people who might find these messages later while looking to fix or reset their device, who are wondering what to poke through the hole, I used the tool that came with my phone (Intended to open the...- CharmCityCrab

Well, sadly this whole discussion might be moot. The device won't power on anymore. I hit the power button and there is just no response at all. The screen stays completely black, etc.. I do notice if I plug it in, I still get the appropriate charging light indicators from the secondary light...- CharmCityCrab

Fiio X1 Question
On the other thread, they told me to do this: Play Settings>Resume>Position (Position is actually the third option after "Yes" and "No"). That seems to work. :) I've only tested that on firmware 1.6, though. I haven't upgraded to 2.0 because of some issues detailed in the other thread...- CharmCityCrab

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote
You're right. Its not a big deal. I'll either keep it on the current firmware rather than upgrading it or get a cheap card or whatever and upgrade it. Not a big deal either way. It'd be nice if I didn't have to pick between old firmware and paying money for something I may only literally once...- CharmCityCrab

A good thought. However, I do not have a spare microSD card. Honestly, I only buy the things when I have a new piece of equipment that requires them. If equipment breaks and a card doesn't, I keep the used card and put it in the replacement equipment. So, right now, I have two, one for the...- CharmCityCrab

When I tried upgrading my firmware to 2.0, it said "file system not support" and then launched me back into 1.6 without installing. I don't mean to be a pain, but the chances of me reformatting my 200 gig microSD card into an older file format, and wiping my entire music collection off it in...- CharmCityCrab

Yes. I can confirm that it is working and that I haven't noticed any apparent functionality issues other than UI speed issues during the short time I've been using it. It looks like, at least as of firmware 1.6, that there was no hard-coded firmware or software limit in terms of SD card capacity...- CharmCityCrab

Thanks! Will try changing the settings right away. :) I downloaded the new firmware to my PC, but will have to wait until I have time, because I know sometimes that sort of thing can take a while, and you risk maybe having to recopy your whole collection of music if something goes wrong, etc...- CharmCityCrab

Just as someone new to it, I can think of a few things that are missing that I would like to see on an x1. If they can meet the same price point, I might even buy the thing before this wears out (I usually wear out devices until they break before replacing them). I don't know how expensive these...- CharmCityCrab

Hi, I'm a new member, so I can't post new threads to this forum. Hopefully this question is close enough to the subject of the thread to be okay. I've noticed in the early days of using the Fiio X1 (Which I bought recently) that something like this happens frequently: I pause it to use the...- CharmCityCrab

Fiio X1 Question
Well, my comment didn't seem strictly on-topic for that thread, because the thread looks like it was about the product development and that kind of thing as they were making it and getting it ready for sale, versus questions about how to use it. However, if the forum culture or protocol says...- CharmCityCrab
