I think it's more the sound signature B&O adds. Some describe it as more "fun" or a little more emphasis on the low end.- club968

New HTC 10--Audio Impressions
The G7 is newer than the v30 and the v40 is the newest of them all but I think they are all rated about the same as far as audio quality and amp capabilities.- club968

I think the LG v40 ThinQ is probably the way to go nowadays. It's the only current phone with a headphone jack AND a decent amp.- club968

That Qualcomm link does not say it's using the aqstic in addition to another discrete DAC but if you have a personal account otherwise which is not soecifically stated anywhere else, we can concede that fact. Although no one can say what what files it passes if no one kniws what DAC it is. And...- club968

New HTC 10--Audio Impressions
I'm not saying your wrong but I see something in quotes saying there's a discrete DAC but doesn't say what kind of DAC or who said it. Maybe I said it, lol. https://www.qualcomm.com/news/onq/2016/12/13/behind-scenes-qualcomm-aqstic-and-aptx-audio-tech This link on Qualcomm website seems to...- club968

New HTC 10--Audio Impressions
From what I understand, whatever the Qualcomm aqstic (acstiq?) DAC can process, the headphone jack will send to your earphones. So that would be a yes. I loved the HTC 10 when I had it. Nothing sounded better for its time. Having said that, I've never used the LG v30. The phone's other...- club968

Sad but true. I wish I could hear better than a good quality mp3. I like to keep everything at CD quality so I'm positive I'm not missing anything. Just in case.- club968

Best Smartphone for audiophile
I've always just used super hi-fi just cause I assumed it was better due to its name, lol. I've never tried the standard option. I'll have to try it out and see how I feel.- club968

Best Smartphone for audiophile
My vote goes to the HTC, it seems the most fluid and least buggy. Ive owned pretty much all these phones within the last year so I speak from some experience. I am now using the Axon 7 and it's definitely pretty snappy and the sound is definitely top notch. I would've put it at the top if not...- club968

This, unlike the lightning connector in the new iPhone which doesn't support analog out. So the HTC can have built in DAC. But you still have to have an adaptor since the standard headphones do the have a USB connection, lol. I hate adaptors, too easy to lose.- club968

Review on HtC 10 and Sound quality (AQstic Dedicated Integrated DAC)
The battery life on my 10 was decent. Went a full 8 hour work day pretty easily. And I'm generally on my phone a lot during the day as I have no access to a computer to satisfy my net surfing needs.- club968

Sony xperia XZ range audio quality
Finally sold the XZ last night. Just didn't have what I wanted in audio. Just not able to power decent headphones well enough and I'm not interested in buying a portable amp, that would defeat the purpose. I had high hopes for it but it didn't deliver. It was a good all arounder in probably...- club968

Review on HtC 10 and Sound quality (AQstic Dedicated Integrated DAC)
I got to the Axon late last night so didn't get to compare it much to the HTC yet. The front facing speakers are probably the best I've ever heard though when the dolby atmos option is on. Adds some sort of depth and low end. Its kinda flat without it. The ability to power my headphones is...- club968

New HTC 10--Audio Impressions
I think the V20 was able to power more demanding headphones to higher levels. The HTC10 does a great job as well, but if you need that little extra you probably are better off with the V20. I run my Audeze LCD-X and my audio Technica ath-m50x at the perfect level for me with the 10, but the...- club968

Yeah, I assume that all the frequencies aren't the highest of data speeds. That's about the only difference between the two versions as far as I know. Get the international version and it should work almost exactly the same when you travel. Except for the few freak countries....- club968
