Tanchjim in ear monitors Impressions Thread
Update: I am experimenting with autoEQ and differents targets via squiglink. My favorite is the IEF neutral 2023 'autoEQ'ed from kr0mka measurements. Using the 9038s E1DA as a source. I get a smooth, spacious and very detailed sound with the right amount of body and decent bass. It is really...- noknok23

Tanchjim in ear monitors Impressions Thread
I got the tanchjim one DSP for over a week now. I think it sounds really nice. smooth and natural with enough bass to be engaging without being overdone. The tonality of the mids are especially fantastic. Non-sound assessments: The fit comfort is average, not bad but could be better, I had to...- noknok23

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
side salad audio made an interesting review about the ling long (linglong). He thought they sounded fine but the driver flex made it unusable for him. I got mine 2 days ago and they already suffer from channel imbalance because of this driver flex issue? I am not really sure what caused it...- noknok23

Shanling M1s - Ideal Compact Portable Player
Agreed, and the cpu is upgraded from x1000 to x2000. If they don't mess up mtouchOS implementation too much, navigation and browsing should be way more responsive with less limitations. like about 2 to 3 times faster with double/quadriple ram amount- noknok23

Two New Compact MTouch Portable Players – Shanling M0 Pro and M1s
I’m hoping the upgraded cpu would make the os navigation smoother and more responsive :) X2000 seems to be a massive improvement over X1000, at least on paper.- noknok23

Choosing between CCA CRA vs 7hz Zero
I have both, i think the zero are better: better fit, better sound and seems like higher build quality. The CRA are great if you want to experiment with EQ, they have an epic V shaped tuning that can be a bit overdone at times. The salnotes sounds boring at first but the tuning is actually...- noknok23

Best minimal smartphone, Bluetooth secondary
You can get new phone for that price. I'd suggest looking for something with sd card support for more flexibility. wireless charging is not something you'll find in a budget phone however, need a few more years or add at least $100. check theses small android phones...- noknok23

The filters on the CRA looks extremely fragile. I always have bad luck with filters. Any recommendations with replacements that wouldn't alter the sound much? What about tuning foam?- noknok23

How do the CCA CRA stack up against the competition ?
What do you mean? your statement seems contradictory. if I recall correctly, under 80db, it should be ok to listen to music for a couple of hours.- noknok23

How do the CCA CRA stack up against the competition ?
I have the CRA since a couple of days. They are quite good. Impressive how technical and detailed they are. I don't have sibilance issue with them but the upper treble extension is very tiresome to me. After a few hours I need to stop. I tried to EQ it down but I'm not sure if I am doing it...- noknok23

Found a way to unlock the volume of the apple dongle on Android 11/12. You need root, magisk and a terminal emulator (such as termux) Flash tinymix.zip with magisk. (attached at the bottom of this post) Connect your dongle+earphones. Then in the termux type: su -c "tinymix -D 1 2 120" Default...- noknok23

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
so I am using the non-EU version of the USB C apple dongle on android. (EU version is half the voltage because of regulation) I reckon half the volume of half the voltage is not much. For people living in EU, that may be not worth it, unless you use very sensitive iems.(like 16ohm/120db) The...- noknok23
