The New Chord Quartet MScaler Discussion Thread
AndrewOld makes a good point. If adding an MScaler to Dave makes part of Dave redundant, make it possible to get a Dave without those redundant parts. It's like adding a power amp to an integrated when what you really wanted was a pre/power combination.- blueninjasix

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
It's less to do with the quality of the signal and nothing at all to do with the quality of the toslink cable. Chord sent me a cable that didn't work at 192kHz and neither did my own QED Reference cable. (I also tried other cheaper cables that had been proved to work by other users). Chord...- blueninjasix

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
Despite what it says in the Qutest manual, Chord do not guarantee that optical toslink will work at 24bit 192kHz. The correct spec is on the Chord website as 24bit 96kHz. This was confirmed to me by Chord themselves.- blueninjasix

An exploration of Chord DAVE, MScaler, Qutest, and Holo May, HQPlayer
I'm shocked at this report that the static problem at 768 is still there with src-dx. I was under the impression that the root cause was the Chord USB input which was bypassed by double bnc?- blueninjasix

I bought the new version second hand without hearing the original. I was put off buying the original version (which to some sounds better) because of cracking issues in the wooden cups.- blueninjasix

Watts Up...?
In January, I was lucky enough to sit front of stalls at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester for Mahler 3. Alice Coote singing directly down at me. A few days later the BBC broadcast the concert but the difference was night and day. I'm sure the main difference came from the position of the...- blueninjasix

The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread
I'm new to headphones - dt880 250ohm are my first pair. I'm using the Jot 2 amp mainly as a preamp in my speaker system. I'm finding the dt880 a bit thin sounding but I'm loving the level of detail. I decided to give EQ a go after the latest HQPlayer incorporated AutoEQ. So I downloaded a...- blueninjasix

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
With a passive preamplifier (Khozmo) I use 3v to give it a kick up the arse. With an active preamp (liquid spark) I use the regulation 2v. Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
You can't use M-Scaler without a source computer or server or cd player or dap. The computer that runs Hqplayer can also be the source. The M-Scaler doesn't operate in the ether either. The pc required to run pcm from Hqplayer at 768kHz doesn't have to be that powerful or expensive. There is no...- blueninjasix
