    PWB moving coil headphones.

Graham at PWB got back to me pretty quickly: "Good Morning Mark. I’m glad to see that our headphones are still working 😊 I’ve just got my mum May, to send me some copies of an article from Popular HiFi from 1973, which is a review by Martin Colloms. Hope this helps in having a bit more info...

    PWB moving coil headphones.

Thanks Dunring, I'd read that old thread but thought that I should start a new one rather than resurrect it. Unlike any of the photos that I've seen, mine are closed back. The cable is very serious looking and the jack plug does look to be professional standard. Looking again through the old...

    PWB moving coil headphones.

I've just got these and I'd greatly appreciate some help in identifying them. They are from the 1970's and sound really good but could be bassier. I'm wearing them at work to discourage interaction with my colleagues and none of my little DAP's have any problem driving them. Unfortunately they...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

indeed, it really is one of my favourites ever. I've had mine from release and I still use it every day. It will be a sad day when it dies. Having said that, I really fancy Shanling's new H2. As for support, it was superceded by the Pro quite a while ago and they aren't updating the software...

TempoTec Variations V6 DSD512 Android HIFI Music Player

my v6 died a couple of months ago. It was just about still under guarantee so I contacted Tempotec and sent it back for repair. It came back yesterday. It just wouldn't boot after a small, but fatal fall. They've replaced the pcb, screen and back cover and applied screen protectors front and...

    TempoTec Owners Thread

altharic thanks for the advice. I tried all combinations of button presses. All that I could manage was to force a reboot to a blank screen. I've posted it back to Tempotec. They've got it now and have told me that they will fix it and send it back to me next week. I'm glad that I acted promptly...

    TempoTec Owners Thread

I think that my V6 has died. I still get the blue led when I press the volume button and the red one when charging. I've rebooted loads of times with the volume and bottom button. It takes about a minute to start the reboot, the blue light flickers and the screen glows faintly a few times and...

    Obscure Chinese DAPs

I always get concerned when it is also an ebook reader. It makes me think of a poor quality Swiss Army Knife. A lot of more affordable ChiFi has great kit but poor software.

    Obscure Chinese DAPs

I'm not a modder or very analytical in my listening but my unmodded Rockboxed Zishan T1 is my favourite of my players. It's very usable and, when I'm listening to it, it just makes me smile.

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

i've used my M0 for several hours nearly every day since it was released. The bars on the battery icon might run down a little quicker but it's not really a problem and I've never run out of power. Charge it most days and you'll be fine.

    Shanling Q1 - Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player

I changed my broken screen on Friday evening. It was surprisingly easy. working perfectly and I'm listening to it now. The only bad thing is that I haven't had to buy a shiny new toy. Thanks again to Frankie, Shanling, and Shanling Official Store on Aliexpress. The British importer hasn't...

    Shanling Q1 - Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player

thanks for the prompt reply. Your presence on Headfi is excellent and one of the reasons that I am so keen on Shanling. The only UK dealer that I know of is AMP3 but they only stock the M0. If I DM you (or vice versa) could you let me have either a price for a new screen posted to me or pass me...

    Shanling Q1 - Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player

It's still for sale on the official store on Aliexpress. I've enquired at that site as well, they might still have some spares. I was really hoping for a response from the Shanling chappie that responds here regularly. Looking at the M0 thread he asked people to enquire at that store for spares...
