HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Thanks for your impressions. Sounds similar to my expectations of it being kinda taking middle-ground of the Elear and HE-6 and leaning towards the better of both. I do enjoy the soundstage and lean towards brighter side of neutral, but there is something about Focal midrange.- sikninjaskillz

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
I have a He6 and Elear currently and I like the contrast between the two, curious how you feel the the He6 holds up to the Utopia. I also have 3 sets of Focal speakers, so I have a suspicion I'll end up at Utopia myself.- sikninjaskillz

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
I'm about due for an he6 amp and dac upgrade. Narrowed it down to Bryston or some form of Pass amplifier, Threshold, Nacamichi or First Watt. I'm curious what everyone is using for a preamp? I see post of passive preamps robbing the life and dynamics. Any preamp suggestions or am I better off...- sikninjaskillz

Emotiva A-100
Bas x sounds more v shaped and dynamic. And vocals sound more narrow in the center image. I love it with the headphones I use He-500 and Elear. Mini x sounds more natural with my focal 706 desktop speakers. The bas x makes them a little bright sometimes up close. I wouldn't say one is definitely...- sikninjaskillz

Emotiva A-100
A-100 came in 3 models for far. Mini-x gen 1 and 2, which gen 1 has silver plates and knob on front and gen 2 black. Not sure if any changes on the inside. And then bas-x which added headphone output, changed PCB layout, and changed op amp from tl072 to ne5532.- sikninjaskillz

Emotiva A-100
I own both mini x and BAS X. BAS X replaced Gustard H10 w/Burson op v5 upgrade as my go to head amp. BAS X is more v shaped and dynamic than mini x, which I actually prefer with headphones. Emotiva told me they changed op amps and "made a few upgrades" when I asked about the sound signature change.- sikninjaskillz

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
Mentioned them as I see the Nighthawks, HE-500 and HD650 as most common comparisons sound signature wise. Not on price point. I have a few more stops, if i make it to the Z1R. HE-6 or HD800 coming up next.- sikninjaskillz

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
About 30 hours now between listening and burn in while sleeping or at work, still the same general impression. I have found the balance in wanting to turn it up the dark signature, and getting hit unexpectedly by something in that narrow treble peak. I think it's the best headphone for about 20%...- sikninjaskillz

Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
My Elear arrived today and being somewhat a focal fanboy (I have 706 speakers on my desk and Polyglass in my car) so far I'm not impressed. They aren't my typical sound signature as I prefer a more bright and neutral sound so that could be part of the equation. Of the headphones I've listened to...- sikninjaskillz

GUSTARD H10 High-current Discrete Class A output Stage Headphone Amplifier
Thanks for the input. I'm not typically a loud listener and I just find the H10 such a good amp w/ the Burson v5 upgrade... Now if I can find a He-6, seem to be rare now that I'm looking.- sikninjaskillz

Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
I know it's not ideal and probably not powerful enough but, has anyone actually tried the he-6 with a Gustard H10? I know less powerful tube amps like Ember ii are recommended.- sikninjaskillz

Does anyone else have a ground loop problem with their H10? All my other equipment is silent until I plug the power in on the h10 and then it transfers noise through EVERYTHING!!!- sikninjaskillz
