CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
The Ferrum WANDLA DAC, which appeared this year, was created with the option to implement a variety of filters, including user created ones, so that looks like a candidate for this idea.- Godbluffer

Apple Music HiFi
Not yet, but I will try. Since it happens so consistently at the timestamps I mentioned, I do suspect that it’s just buggy behavior, and not a mere streaming issue. It’s also only the sound that interrupts, while the track actually keeps playing, which you wouldn’t expect to happen with a...- Godbluffer

Yes, it’s regularly happening after either 17 seconds or 2 minutes and 17 seconds into tracks. If I click on the slider a few seconds before it, it will happily continue playing with sound again. Vey strange.- Godbluffer

Introducing HIFIMAN EF600--Desktop DAC/AMP Featuring HYMALAYA Pro Modules
Yes, he did address it, but as usual with him, things tend to get lost in the overly abundant sauce. 😝 What he ignored in his review is that there are quite obvious differences between the four settings high/low gain, and NOS/OS. I commented on his review that high gain NOS has the same sound...- Godbluffer

Introducing HIFIMAN EF600--Desktop DAC/AMP Featuring HYMALAYA Pro Modules
And here’s another full, and this time gushing (except for the wiggly volume knob), review of the EF600. Occasional F-bomb warning for those who are sensitive to it. 😉- Godbluffer

Double Helix Cables Thread
Anyone in the Netherlands have a Chimera with 3.5 mm connectors? Considering this one, but before taking the rather considerable plunge I’d first like to audition it :), preferably as close to home as possible.- Godbluffer

Introducing HIFIMAN EF600--Desktop DAC/AMP Featuring HYMALAYA Pro Modules
Joshua Valour has now posted this full review on his YouTube channel. A lot is covered in what I feel is too short a time. My feeling is that this reflects how he feels about the product. I‘m getting a bit of a ‘HiFiMan, you can do better than this, NEXT!’ vibe here.- Godbluffer

Lavricables - Impressions & Discussion Thread
No new assessment on technicalities for the moment, but just reporting that I had a near out-of-body experience with my Susvara and Lavri Grand listening to Pink Floyd’s Animals (2018 remix). Never experienced it like this before! :o2smile:- Godbluffer

Lavricables - Impressions & Discussion Thread
I was holding off writing a review of my own, pretty much in part because I’m lazy , but your review makes writing one of my own redundant, since yours matches my observations perfectly, at least to the point where it was possible for me, since I don’t have the highest end setup. The...- Godbluffer

HiFiMan Susvara
The Susvara subtly, but significantly, changes with each different cable you connect to it. It’s really a matter of synergy, and personal taste, which one(s) work best with the other gear you have. Trial and error is really the only way of finding out.- Godbluffer

Introducing HIFIMAN EF600--Desktop DAC/AMP Featuring HYMALAYA Pro Modules
I just discovered an issue with my EF600 unit. I always found the 4-pin XLR output extremely tight, making me have to push some cables disconcertingly hard to get them in, and wiggle endlessly to get them out, but now I discovered this means some cables don’t make sufficient contact because of...- Godbluffer

Lavricables - Impressions & Discussion Thread
Well, mine arrived this morning, just one day after it left Latvia! I’ll just leave a short first impression after a tiring day at work. First of all, this cable absolutely destroys the myth that silver equals bright or analytical. To me it sounds just about dead neutral, in a very good way...- Godbluffer

@devilboy You’re making me very curious about this cable now. Mine is nearing the end of its 150-hour um… ‘tenderization’ treatment at @lavricables , so I hope to see mine arrive towards the end of this coming week. 😛- Godbluffer

I got the one with the transparent heat shrink, which was in fact the only option available when switching from 4 to 8 on the product page (!) It really looks like we got ourselves the exact same cable, connectors and all. Please don’t tell me yours is 1.8m in length, too. 😂- Godbluffer

Introducing HIFIMAN EF600--Desktop DAC/AMP Featuring HYMALAYA Pro Modules
Isn’t NOS the default state of R2R DACs? In that case no button would be needed. :relaxed: I believe the OS setting on the EF600 is just an added feature.- Godbluffer

If you’re getting mono sound from the 4-pin XLR output of the EF600, there is either something wring with your unit, and/or with the connector you’re plugging into it, so I’d have that checked first if I were you.- Godbluffer
