Hey Head-Fi! I recently picked up the Stax 2170 set, and grabbed a random 12v 1.5a cable I had around to power the amp. I didn't know the pins were reversed, and of course the result is an amp that won't turn on. I'm assuming I blew the fuse, as inversely wired (center negative) power...
