iFi audio iPower X - The Official Thread

So if I bought an adapter with UK plug and eu socket to match the ipower x eu adapter I could use it the right way up and avoid the strain on the cable?

iFi audio iPower X - The Official Thread

My ipower x sounds very nice with my Auralic Aries Mini. The only thing that is spoiling it is the fact that the UK adapter means it’s upside down. The cable is sticking up in the air! Surely this is a design fault?

    Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

In terms of the better use of my time I did actually contact Chord direct to let them have my views on what I see as an unsatisfactory product and missed opportunity. One reason I like Chord is their support team are very good. Ed Selley sent this reply and has kindly agreed to my posting it...

    Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

Apologies to anyone put out by my post except John Franks of course! One of his two appearances here was in response to the wordplay so I couldn't resist using it to express my exasperation at the 2Go/2yu offering as a desktop 'solution'. I was keenly anticipating the advent of a Chord desktop...

    Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

I'm glad to see@Mojoideas enjoying the banter. Perhaps he would be kind enough to enlighten us on the following:- Hugo2 owners have naturally welcomed the 2Go. The 2Go/2Yu connoction seems to have receiced a universally tepid response (over-priced, wires in 3 directions and a set of control...

    Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

Completely agree. Re the last point a 'standard' set up these days is router/NAS/switch/streamer/DAC. That is before you've added a reclocker, USB purifier and upsampler for improved sound quality. That's a lot of signal processing and it's explains why I'm happy to keep my Auralic Aries Mini...

    Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

I don't even use my MojoPoly outside of the house as I think it's too bulky. It drives active Genelecs in the kitchen diner. For mobile use I prefer a Fiio BTR3 with loseless HWA. It's a fraction of the MojoPoly size

    Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

Having worked so hard on the Poly it would seem to be a no brainer to capitalise on it by producing a 2Go for Hugo2 and a standalone streamer for the rest of the market. Then just wait for the cash to roll in. Instead they cobble up an overpriced, half baked , Heath Robinson connoction. Let's...

    Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread

I was hoping for a desktop streamer to match my Qutest case so I'm unimpressed with the the clumsy 2YuGo offering. The 2Go has similar functionality to the Poly but is twice the price. I'm paying for a battery I don't need which will inevitably fail in time. Will 2Go continue to operate on...

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

And presumably not for the weather! I assume 2go is a given but no use to us Mojopoly users. I'm hoping for a matching desktop streamer for my Qutest. My friendly Chord dealer is voting for an upmarket version with mscaler. Having sweated blood over Poly it would be nice roll out the...

Thanks. Any suggestions gratefully received. I've e-mailed Tom at Chord to see if they have had issues from Poly users with mesh routers so I can cancel the order if need be. I assume they have amassed a fair bit of feedback by now! I use an Auralic Aries Mini with SSD as my source so no...

I decided to replace my old Tp-link router (£25) to try and avoid drop-outs. I asked Tom at Chord if they had any recommendations for routers. He declined saying that they are keen for Poly to work with all systems which is understandable but not very heplful. I then ordered a Netgear Orbi so...

Thanks for this. It was getting fairly unpleasant. I can empathise with people's frustrations. I'm on my second Poly. There were major drop-out problems on the first. Chord said it was probably the network so I bought a £30 Google Chromecast to disprove this and it was much more robust...

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread

I find the whole power supply issue fascinating. When I decided to use my Hugo in the main system I bought a £150 Liv(now Innuos) Wave (Cubox based) streamer. It came with a switch mode power supply. I upgraded to their battery pack PSU which was better e.g. less grainy. I then bought an...

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread

If I'd bought a 2Qute recently I'd be pretty fed up. Chord have produced something which looks to be much better in the same price bracket and reduced the price and presumably the second hand value of my 2Qute. In the same vein if Chord in the fairly near future produced a desktop Poly with...

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread

I have a 2Qute (which replaced an original Hugo) in my main system which I like very much. I also have a Mojopoly as the source for a pair of Genelec active studio monitors in another room. This also sounds great but has some well documented teething problems(occasional drop-outs in my case)...

While Mr F is temporarily unable to deal with set-up issues can I ask about view's on Poly's sound quality (SQ)? Specifically has anyone tried MojoPoly against a highly rated streamer/network audio adapter feeding a Mojo? I have in mind something like Auralic Aries, ultrarendu or SOTM ultra.

Quick update. The local dealer (Nottingham Hifi) have very helpfuliy clarified that the cost of the battery from Chord is £45 and they would fit it FOC. Can't say fairer than that. On that basis I don't see the battery costs as such a big issue but Chord need to get the info out there.

I previously posted about a Mojo battery issue. In fact I tried an overnight charge when I got back from holiday and it seemed to hold OK. it may have been the plugs or sockets I used on holiday that were a problem. That said I did enquire about a replacement from Chord and they said £70/£80...

The Aries Mini is tiny for a desktop streamer/DAC. In fact it's about 3.5 times the size of the Mojopoly combo and about double the mass at 0.5kg (not sure where the fifty times comes from!). Admittedly that's without the PSU and a lot of the Mojopoly is battery but the Mini does have space...

I didn't get a reply to the charging question, possibly because it coincided with the anouncements on the revised launch date and the enhancements competition. Colin Pratt said in the Moon Audio LAAS video that Poly had 'intelligent charging'. Will this be the same as Hugo2 where after 24hours...
