I use the 846, and the W60, wired and bluetooth. Wired when i am at my desk, or Bluetooth when i am out and about, for convenience. Yes i can tell the difference, but i can get along with either.- Oldfella

Wired Headphones is Dead the future is wireless
I have tried £200 cables with my HD800, and HEK,but found very little difference, and now use standard cables. I have now purchased bluetooth, around the neck dongle, working with my 846, and W60. Yes i can tell a difference, but it is small, meaning i now use the earphones, without cables, and this...- Oldfella

iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade
On a whim, I purchased a bluetooth over ear adaptor, short around neck cable, with Shure connectors, and charging cable. Amazon £19. Not expecting much, but, being able to use 846 with bluetooth?. Connected to IPhone 6plus, using Jabra app. Connected in seconds. WOW, very very nice sound. As...- Oldfella

Try as i might, i could not get rid of a low hum, with Analog, but completely eliminated with Optical. You could try a cheap converter off EBay,and see if that works, cheap enough, if it doesn't. For gaming etc., the Sony 700 surround headphones might be a better bet.- Oldfella
