Thank you for your exhaustive answer. I might just give them a few more days for brain burn-in to hopefully kick in. :relaxed:- idchaw

Campfire - Solaris
Hi guys, I got my used Solaris 2020 about a week ago. I have never owned a pair of iems this good (or expensive for that matter) and I really love the soundstage, clarity and lush sound of them. However, I am really missing that exciting treble sparkle. I also find female vocals a bit veiled...- idchaw

This might be too off topic, but I am one of the seemingly few who really like the AQ7s. If I wanted to upgrade and buy IEMs in the 1000 dollar bracket, what would you recommend? I was thinking about Campfire Andromeda, but the warm sound signature gives me pause. I live in Sweden and will...- idchaw

Am I the only one to actually still like the AQ7s? 😅 I don't know if it's because I haven't heard better due to lack of experience, or because my taste is as "off" as you guys claim the tuning to be, haha.- idchaw

@baskingshark I saw your review of the Tempotec Sonata HD Pro. Would you recommend using it with the AQ7s?- idchaw

As someone who struggles to put my impressions into words, I am very curious as to how you guys would describe the AQ7 sound signature? I've read quite a few impressions where people say that they have elevated bass, a midrange bump and dampened highs. Wouldn't that mean that they're warm...- idchaw

What kind of music do you guys think make the AQ7's shine the most? I listen to jazz, acoustic, indie pop, indie rock, r'n'b, soul and rap and I find that they work with everything. Edit: also, since I've been working from home lately I've been listening to them for like six hours...- idchaw

To me the word would be "joyful", but "rediscovery" and "effortless" fit the brief as well. I absolutely love them.- idchaw

Personally, I think the AQ7's are great. And since the customer service seems exceptional I wouldn't worry about some iem's having problems with QC. Potential QC problems aside, it would be great if someone with experience with iem's in this price category could elaborate on how the AQ7's...- idchaw

Either the Spiral Dots (although being too big - I'm awaiting a package of tips in a smaller size) or brain burn in worked like magic. These don't sound too bright for me at all anymore. They also seem to work with all genres for me all of a sudden. They actually sound really good...- idchaw

I actually just received mine. :) I like the sound, but they're a bit big sadly (size M). At least for deep insertion, which is what I prefer with these. I might order them in size S or S/M - it's just that it took them so long to get here. And they're not really cheap either, but they sure are...- idchaw

I have yet to be blown away by a set of iems, sadly. I had to buy blind and these are the most expensive I've owned. Guess the search continues.- idchaw

Don't really know why, but black/pink doesn't really work for me. It feels a little muffled and dark, like it lacks sparkle. (Sorry, I'm terrible at describing what I hear. ) I'm sticking with b/b and hoping for brain burn-in.- idchaw

I haven't actually, as I always feel they muffle the sound. I'm sticking with black/black, since all other combos leave me feeling underwhelmed. They work for most genres, they just feel a little thin with rnb, soul and rap. Maybe I should have gone with a different set of iems.. Well well, too...- idchaw

Man is this filter swapping thing hard! I really like the clarity of these iems, but I just can't seem to settle with one set of filters and nozzles. I've been using black/black for a while now, and even though I love the soundstage, instrument separation and clarity they are simply too bright...- idchaw
