I use rounds tips which gives me a better seal. 

I can now confirm that the spin-fit does have a muffling effect on the IE800's sound. The vocals seems rounded where it looses some character and the treble is slightly thinner. It also looses some low end punch and weakens the sub-bass. I also kept increasing the volume by couple of clicks...

I certainly started my journey in to high end audio that way. Not a bad brand to get a jump start I guess :)

I have my DT880 hooked up to my Headzone so it has the head tracking fixed to it. I have to do some research to see if I can port it over to a T1.  IE800 is an emotional IEM for me so I grab it every time I need to feel better :)

I have multiple hobbies like in Motorcycles/racing, PC gaming, photography and hi-fi audio so I always had to find the right product to use with the best value investment in each of these areas of interests. I got my first Beyerdynamic for gaming few years back and grew a liking for their sound...

I don't want to give a wrong impression as I have not tested the stock vs new tip comparison on the IE 800. I was more concerned about my JH Roxanne as I did not like any of the stock tips and could not get the right sound vs fitment compromise.    I have to state my baseline observation of IE...

To my ears it has toned down the sibilance but very subtle. It sounds smoother but the deviation from stock is again very subtle. I have to spend more time with it to really understand the pros and cons.. which also means I have to stay away from my roxannes while I do so. I have kept switching...
