Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones
My local dealer has these headphones at closeout for $450. But the reason it's at closeout is because the model had been discontinued. Is it a wise choice to go for this given there will be practically no warranty (since you can't get replacements or parts after they stop manufacturing the...- MwAvGuy

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?
I mean, there are other headphones whose FR graphs aren't on IF but are on HR. I'm not sure what "high" top of head relative to ears means!- MwAvGuy

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?
When you look at the innerfidelity frequency response compensated (top), can you directly compare that to the FRC on headroom? For instance, Oppo PM-3 FRC curve is only on innerfidelity but not headroom, and many other headphones are vice versa.- MwAvGuy

I use a Corda Meier Jazz at home, but the portable phones would likely go unamped (or in other words, it'll have the decent amp from the macbook air) or at best, use the amp from the Meridian Explorer 2 that I have,- MwAvGuy

Interesting. Isn't sub-bass + mid-bass better than mid-bass alone? I've not listened to either headphones though! I've had the Senn HD-600, Beyer T1, Ultrasone Sig Pro.- MwAvGuy

Back to square one then! It's hard to decide between HP50, PM-3, and Shure 1540 for a good closed "bass impact" can!- MwAvGuy

Shure SRH1540 Review
Has anyone compared the 1540 to Oppo PM-3 or NAD VISO HP50? How do they compare in terms of overall tonality, quality and quantity of bass including impact, unrecessed mids, clean but not sparkly or painful treble, and sound leakage (or lack thereof)?- MwAvGuy

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Wow, the PM-3 has more bass? I had been reading they are fairly neutral, so I assumed the amount of bass would be far lower (seeing the +10 dB bass curve of the NAD at http://www.headphone.com/pages/build-a-graph).- MwAvGuy

Can you use headphone amps for computer speakers?
This is probably a lame question, but I have no idea how this works. Can a headphone amp like the Corda Meier Jazz power a pair of Magnepan MMG?- MwAvGuy

I asked this question in the Oppo thread, but in the spirit of neutrality, I'll ask here as well. Between Oppo PM-3 and NAD VISO HP50, which has the better tonality, bass response (tight and impactful), comfort, and lack of sound leakage?- MwAvGuy
