Modded my senns bt 4.40 with hm5 pads and dt770 headpad
Https://imgur.com/a/t0r8M So basically what happened: Sub-bass went down. It's more neutral now, 4.40 is quite bassy on it's own. Bass got less tight, but it's not bad or something like that. There's just less of it and it's not as punchy. Still, quite enough of it present. Soundstage got...- ardacer

The Stax Thread III
Hi guys, I have a 313 amp and a 303 headphones which i plan to mod a lot, and I also plan to buy a l700.. 313 would drive these until I can get something better, but all the better energizers are damn expensive.. I'm really good with soldering iron and I've made pcb's at home with uv light...- ardacer

The Stax Thread III
Umm.. so I got a stax 303 for free but all the foam up front got destroyed and terrible and went into the mesh, so I took it apart to clean it. I did Ok but I bent one dust cover (front side). So I have 2 questions, would it be better to straighten it up and reglue to the driver, or just flip...- ardacer

something cheap and comfy that akg q701 drivers can sit in
Hi, I've bought the AKG Q701 some time ago and my modding project ended up with the headband broken, which is no big deal as it was unusable anyway (bumps :( ). So, any headphones out there that would be cheap, comfy and have headbands which are simmilar to AKG lineup? Or any sugestions about...- ardacer

Stax 3030 vs srs2170
Hi! I'm presented with an option of buying either used stax 3030 or new srs 2170 system for about the same amount of cash. Is the classic 3030 better in terms of technology and sound than the new 2170? If they are about the same, I'll go for 2170 cause it's black, but if 3030 is better I'd...- ardacer

Help with some tests
Hi folks. I'm helping a friend who's an old audiophile measure some speakers. That said, I have never done any measurments so far. So. I've downloaded ARTA and it's a pain to understand. Basically we only need the frequency / db curve and perhaps the speaker impedance (that I could prolly...- ardacer

Review by 'ardacer' on item 'SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 8 GB MP3 Player (Black)'
I got a sansa clip+ for my pair of custom iems. Really small, really portable, big nice clip to clip on something while training. Almost perfect sound, some audible noise (really really low, like really low, with balanced armatures, other headphones are ok - I'll accept it, some folks may not)...- ardacer

Review by 'ardacer' on item 'Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO Closed Studio Headphones - 250 Ohms'
These sound as good as the closed designs can get, imo. They are quite flat. Sure, not the very best out there, but for this price point, you won't get better. They are closed, so you can't expect such airy sound as from open back designs, but they do sound fantastic, and don't get too warm...- ardacer

Thx guys, it looks beautiful, but I don't really need that great screen though. Just a regular small screen (or no screen even) and couple of buttons is fine if the sound quality is decent, if something like that exists :) Good idea though, I will consider it- ardacer

Hehehe they just arrived! They look and feel absolutely amazing. This is their 3 drivers version. For the sound? Hm. It's odd. I've never before heard an iem without the feeling of my brain being drilled in by the device, and this is the first time I've heard BA's... I can't wait to test them...- ardacer
